Oh! The Excitement!

Everything is working out fantastic!

Tessie got Sir Reggie to agree to take over the burglar's living room.  All she had to do was tell him that she will keep him in reading material and TV.

That was easy.
She then helped Melvin carry all of his ill gotten gains to the Forest Fantasy Cottage and got him settled in...

I have yet to make the fluffy towels. That shouldn't take long.
Tessie is happy because there are lots of cookies in the cottage.  Melvin will be happy as soon as he can get Tessie out of his hair.  He wants a shower in the worst way!  He's been sitting in that living room for a number of years just thinking about it.

Until she leaves he is sitting there counting all of his money and goods... I do hope that the cops don't find the cottage, or he could be in trouble!

Walter is playing golf as a guest at Tucson Country Club today... After he left, I went over to Walmart.  I don't usually go in the middle of the day.  I don't really like the crowds. I was bored.

This time I am glad that I went.  They have started putting out school supplies. It seems like it's a little early...

I am not complaining! I think that I am the only grown up that gets excited about school supplies.

I found Quad Rule notebooks 100 sheets for $1.97.  And the usual 24 pack of mechanical pencils... I see a lot of furniture designing this year.

For the past few years the quad rule paper has been scarce.  Walmart went to 5 to the inch.  That was not good for anybody that wants to design 1/12 scale furniture.  At last it's back and I'm a happy camper!

I have to go now.  I want to try out the new pencils and paper!

See you tomorrow.

Do Not Disturb!

Kota has made it official.  He now owns our closet.  He found an old cat bed in there, stored with a blanket inside... He has been there for the past two days. That's only when he doesn't want to be disturbed... He comes out when HE wants to.
Me?  I have the first wall finished... Three to go.  Maybe another one this afternoon.
We also moved Daisy's cottage into the family room.  There is barely room on the table for the observatory, so Daisy opted to leave it in the living room.
Reggie is taking it over.  It doesn't go with the Forest Fantasy Cottage, but he is borrowing it for the time being...

Daisy doesn't care.  She is away, more than she is here.  She drops by for supplies. Right after I took the above photo, she grabbed some cookies from the kitchen and took off.  I have no idea where she was going or when she will be back.

It will probably be when the cookies run out.

As for Tessie?  She's in the basket maker's cottage pouting.  No crown yet...

I am holding off as long as I can...It is going to be miserable around her when she comes to power...

See you tomorrow.

Let's NOT Get This Party Started!!!

Tessie invited the Skeleton Crew to stay at her townhouse until Halloween...

It's not going to happen.

They moved in last night and this morning when I got up, there was a party in full swing!

One of the skellies is passed out in the swing chair.  Another is amusing herself by wearing one of Tessie's aprons and playing with the rubber chicken.

It seems that one and all wanted to meet their late relatives...

I went up to the second floor and Tessie has engaged one of the skeletons to clean her closet... Remember the one that was half in the bedroom and half in the closet?

She let one of the skeletons wear one of her aprons and a mob cap for cleaning purposes.  It doesn't look to me like there is much cleaning going on... The one in the chair has taken a liking to Tessie's new hat.  Just wait until Tessie turns around and gets a load of that!  There may be a small war soon.

And the guy that was sleeping in Zar's bed yesterday is sleeping in Tessie's today...

On the top level, the lady from the shower, yesterday, is taking a bath today... She must have gone without a bath for a long time in her last life. Cordelia is patiently waiting with a towel.  I think that Tessie put her up to it, so that the skeleton wouldn't leave to many rings in the tub.

The ones in the  potions room are the ones that I am most worried about.  Uncle Reggie is keeping an eye on them, but who knows what their occupations were in their former lives...

I am thinking that it might be a good idea to lock them all in a box until the day before Halloween.  Elsewise there might just be a bit of trouble around here.  They all seem a bit suspicious to me.

Now where can I find a box that will lock and keep eight trouble making skeletons out of trouble, until Oct. 30?

I am off to hunt for a nice prison cell.  See you tomorrow.

Moving...

I have the moving fever this morning.  I was tired of seeing Zar's den every morning when I woke up and needed something different to look at.  I moved it to the front hallway... Then Tessie started to look for him, to tell him what I did.

Of course, the first place she looked was in his den... I do believe that I would have seen him if he were in there. Not at home.  We went looking for him and still don't know where he is.

Who knows?  Maybe he went somewhere with Daisy in the time machine... If he did, who knows when we will see him again... He rather fancies the late 16th century.

If you would like to see the interior more clearly, go to the right and look under Bloomingdale's Room Box.

Tessie gave up and went to thank Reggie for his help in the remodel of her townhouse... Or should I say  the scheme to get me to remodel her townhouse?

He still hasn't gotten used to the furniture in the bathroom... He gets dizzy every time he looks in the mirror... I do hope he doesn't want it changed!
Anyway, Tessie showed up with a plate of assorted cookies as thanks.  She knows Sir Reginald's sweet tooth is never satisfied.

That's how she got him to help with the scam in the first place.
What she doesn't know is, I bribed him myself... Please notice the new tree stump table and the Chinese rug.

I had to do that to keep him from throwing out the animals that live there.  Now all are happy.  Snake is still living in a hole by the fireplace.  He has promised not to go in the bathroom.  That would be just too much to pile on top of the weird furniture in there.

The tiger has agreed not to eat anything without permission... That includes Reggie's hand that feeds him.  Here's hoping that those two are all he has to worry about.

I have to go grab Tessie and continue the hunt for Zar.  It's not like him to disappear without telling us.

See you tomorrow.

Anything for a Friend...

I went as far as to put a voice activated recorder in Reggie's new house last night.  I got suspicious when he told me that he had purchased most of Tessie's furnishings.

The first thing he wanted done was the repair of the floor and ceiling in her workroom...

That was easy enough.  I did that this morning.

Then I went to check on the conversation that they had the night before...

Tessie:  Is it working?
Reggie: I think so.  She is doing the repairs that I requested.

Tessie: That means that as soon as she is finished, I can move back in and you can have the Forest Fantasy Cottage.
Reggie: It shouldn't take more than a few days.  We will have achieved our collective objective.  New homes for us both!...
That's exactly what I thought!  Tessie wanted her house redone, so she put Reggie in place to get it done.

I will go along with the whole scheme for as long as it doesn't require all new anything... Cleaning and repair is all she gets...

Reggie suggested that I start with the roof garden and work down, after I got back from the Gem Show...

Yes.  I went back.  I decided that Zar needed more than one kind of bolt.  He now has enough to last him through the  next year, while I am working on his Steampunk Emporium.

I took everything out of Tessie's cabinet and cleaned it up.

In the process I found some things that I had forgotten that she had... I think that she did too.

When I got all of the plants back in place on the clean floor, it looked pretty good.  Good enough, in fact that she forgot that it was supposed to be Reggie's roof top garden.  She took over..

It took a while, and the playing of the recording of their conversation, but I got her to admit to the ruse.  I did tell her that I would keep doing her house... If she didn't get to uppity.  The non uppity Tessie should last a couple of days... Then we will have to renegotiate.

Zar was overwhelmed with the bolts.  I also found him some batteries.  The ones draped over his foot...

The stuff on his other foot is all MINE!  He can't have all the fun!

I guess I should go back and work on Tessie's house now.

She admitted that she really doesn't like the Forest Fantasy Cottage.  Not refined enough for her.  So... Reggie gets that and she gets her house remodeled... Somewhat.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.

Everybody Got Something...

Reggie got his house moved.

April and Amare came over and April got roped into house moving detail.

I got a place to play again.

Sir Reggie announced that he would like a hanging bed or one that is rounded to fit in the bay window.

Now I am trying to decide which one has less work and tearing of hair involved...

Meanwhile, Sir Reginald just sits there making a coiled basket.
Tessie got three strings of #13 beads for necklaces, purses and other gewgaws.

Which translates to, "More work for me.".

She is already planning all kinds of necklaces, purses and other gewgaws!  LOTS of them.

Kota didn't get anything but a long nap...He likes those better than beads.
And Zar made out like a bandit!  He got a whole LOT of hex nuts!  These were strings of beads in that shape.  Just the right size for him to work with!

He will now start pestering me for his Steampunk store.

It never ends!

See you tomorrow.  Bed in progress...

Someone's Trying to Tell Me Something...

To be specific, I am being bombarded with suggestions from all sides!

This morning I was missing one sock with a hole in the bottom..

I went to look for it and this is what I saw...

It's hard to see, but Reggie is wrapped up in that sock.

The Terrible Two went so far as to cut off the part with the hole.  They tied the bottom of the sock together with a piece of the yarn...

Then somehow, they wrestled Reggie into the home made sleeping bag.
I let them get him upstairs in the townhouse.  They plopped him on the floor of the bedroom.  He didn't move much.  I suspect a sleeping potion.

I was not in the mood for an argument, so I let them get away.

Meanwhile, Walter and I went to pick up his car from being worked on.

On the way back he stopped for Chinese food for lunch...

My fortune cookie was another hint!  I have to get back to work.  It's getting pretty bad when the guy that writes the messages in the fortune cookies starts nagging me.

Until I get the house moved, I am going to go to work on some furniture.

Somewhere along the line, Sir Reggie woke up and immediately started searching for the perfect bed for his new home.

Before I could stop him, he had about a quarter of my furniture books scattered around on the bed. He finally asked me for help... I suspect that he blackmailed Tessie into zapping them into the bedroom.  There's no way that he could have carried them all in there without a heart attack.

Kota slept through the whole thing!

I did notice that Reggie also dragged out one of my quad rule planning pads.  He means business this time...

I have to stop writing now and go start drawing plans for a bed as soon as he decides which one he likes best.

Back to the drawing board.  See you tomorrow.

Upstairs, Downstairs...

I went into the kitchen a while ago and noticed that Tessie and Zar were having breakfast on the roof of the Clockwork trailer...

That was a bit unusual... They have been spending a lot of time in the Forest Fantasy Cottage.

I had to stick my nose in where it didn't belong... I should have known better.

Yesterday, Reggie came to me and asked to have the trailer cleaned.  To use his exact words..."It is a filthy pigsty."

I knew that the Terrible Two wouldn't do it, so I got the mop and dust rag out and went to work.  The thing is, I didn't stop to think what he was wanting it cleaned for...

Now I know.  I looked into the trailer.  Reggie was asleep on Zar's bed.  The couch was empty.

I went up to the roof and asked what was happening... Then I noticed that Zar had rearranged things so that the Steampunk Organ was directly above the head of the bed, downstairs...

I do believe that revenge is being taken...

Zar explained that he uncle was known to take advantage of any situation that he could...

I don't think that he will be staying where he is for long.  I heard the organ a couple of times during the night... It wasn't very loud where I was, but I am sure that Uncle Reggie was getting the full concert vibe!

Tessie pleaded with me to start fixing the house for him.  I will as soon as we get it moved to the worktable in the bedroom.  Until then, I have a feeling that I am going to be refereeing a  few arguments.

Tessie is sleeping at  Cordelia's place.  On the couch.  Zar is sleeping in the Forrest Fantasy Cottage on the pull out bed... And Sir Reginald is not sleeping well at all.

Zar told me that the Terrible Two plus One are planning to stay up all night tonight.  They will take turns at the Steampunk Organ... I am assuming that Spike, as a loyal plus One, will be howling his little lungs out.  It's just a good thing that I have a nice fluffy pillow to put over my head!

I am going to try to at least get a bed in the bedroom of Sir Reggie's new house by tonight.  Wish me luck.

See you tomorrow.

The Fun is About to Start...

Uncle Reggie seems to have recovered most of his memory, with the addition of proper clothing.  I think he was just in shock.

He is wheeling and dealing as usual now.  He talked Zar into helping him repair the house and whatever furniture he can talk Tessie out of, for cheap...

No mention of payment for the help... After all Zar is his nephew. All in the family.

I did very little on the Russian Rug yesterday.  I didn't tell you.  Three witches arrived on my doorstep equipped with a couple of plates of goodies, yesterday about 1:00 PM.

They insisted that I had been out of the loop long enough.  A great time was had by all.  Not much in mini though.
I just went into the bedroom, where Reggie is going to put the house to be worked on... He was haggling with Tessie over the furniture.

He's very picky.  NO WICKER!

That's fine with me.  I don't have to make more for Tessie to replace anything that he took.

Also, he took one look at the painting on top of the pile and announced, "There will be none of this modern nonsense in the townhouse now.

At one point, he looked at me and told me that he needs a cook/housekeeper and a butler.  I put my foot down.  Maybe a cook/housekeeper, but he is not getting a butler.  That would mean enlarging the house for servant's quarters.  No way! No how!

I can easily see this quickly spiraling out of hand.  He is laying down rules right and left and seems to think that I am responsible for it all. I want to go back to when it was just Tessie telling me what to do.  Her, I could argue with.

I think that the first thing I am going to do is put a BIG lock on the outside of the closet door.  He can always spend a few hours in lock down if things get too out of control.

At least he is decent to run around the house now.  New clothes make the man.

See you tomorrow.

Dazed and Confused...

OK... Yesterday, Reggie seemed to be OK... Today, he came around and didn't really remember buying a house yesterday.

We went through the whole thing with him.  It seems that he has lapses in time here and there.  The trip that he took was long and taxing.

For one thing, he was a half a head shorter than he was when he left.

After questioning and reviewing his notebooks, we figured out that he had a concussion and was wandering around for a while.  No.  He wasn't playing football.

It seems that he got into trouble in South America whilst looking for a lost city...

Personally, I think that he tried too many of the native drinks and such.  Not enough rest and it didn't help that he made a witch doctor mad at one point.  I think that's when he shrunk about six inches...

This morning, when he came to his senses, he insisted that, in order to move into the new house, he would need new muscles and new clothes.

I got as far as starting on the body and looking for some fabric or leather for pants and he decided that was enough for one day.  He is spending the night in Zar's Clockwork Trailer, on the couch.  That's the best we could do for him.  We wouldn't want him wandering off, when no one was looking.

Tessie is holding him to the agreement to buy the house.

She washed her hands of the situation and decided to nap with Kota for the rest of the afternoon.

I am not sure that that was a good idea... He looks to me like he might bite her head off for laying on his leg.

Anyway, I am going back now to try to find something for Reggie to wear.  He seems to be getting better and remembering more all of the time.  The sooner we get him dressed, the better.  It is embarrassing to have him wandering around in his cotton muscle suit.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.

For Sale By Owner!

The other day, when I unloaded all of the furniture from Tessie's townhouse, I didn't think that she would actually get rid of it.

She did!

This morning, she flopped a sign over the top rail of the roof garden.  For Sale by Owner. Inquire within...

That's all it took.  And twenty minutes...
It seems that Sir Reggie, Zar's uncle, has finally returned from his world wide adventures... He wants to settle down and help Zar with the Bizarre Bazaar.  That will last for a couple of months and then Reggie will be wanting to go off adventuring once again.

And silly Zar is going to let him do it.

The last we saw of him, he wanted to run the basket shop in 2009... That one lasted two days and then he disappeared!

Anyway, the agreement was settled with a handshake.  I told Tessie that she should get it in writing, but she insisted that a handshake would seal the deal...

Next, they went to look and see if he could use any of the furniture that was taken out of the house.

He has already talked her out of all of the planters for the garden... I doubt that she will give up her pod chair or any of the other wicker, but he is a wheeler, dealer if I have ever seen one.

She went to tell Zar that he was back and got a stern scolding from him.

He knows his uncle... To put it nicely, he sometimes refers to Sir Reggie as "That snake in the grass!".

Tessie has already promised Reggie that I will make any adjustments to the house that he wants... I am not liking the sound of this.

Stand back!  I have a feeling that things just might explode at any minute!

See you tomorrow.
