Saturday and Sunday....

I am amazed at people that will throw a watch away because the battery went dead! All eight of these were in a jar that I bought, not to long ago, at Goodwill. All I did was replace the batteries with ones that I bought at Dollar tree.  Four for a dollar! Every one of them works just fine. Now all I have to do is make them some beaded bands.

Saturday, we met April, Seth and Amare for a tour around the tents at the ballpark and then to lunch at Michas. It has reopened and we really enjoyed it.

For those of you that don't know, that's our Mexican restaurant of choice here in Tucson. It has been closed for a while.  They had a fire start in the kitchen.  It wiped out the whole restaurant and they had to rebuild the inside. The food is still as good as ever.

Walter and I went to the ballpark again today.   I grabbed a lot of beads to work with. I got home and sorted the piles out to see what I had...

Then I left the room for a few minutes.  When I got back Tessie was in the middle of the tray.

As I watched, she kept saying.... "This is mine... and this is mine... This is mine... This is mine.  I think that she said that about 40 times.  Then I stopped her... I grabbed the tray... Put her back on the bed and told her emphatically "This I ALL MINE!"

I will probably have to make her a crystal necklace or two.  But at least I will get most of it.

I am thinking of doing the blog Monday through Friday for a while and see how it works out. Today is Monday... Only four more days to go and then I get two days off.  Maybe.  We shall see.

See you tomorrow!

Tessie's Jewelry Hunt!

I got out the five watches that I have finished so far.  I only have seven more to do... I wonder if that will be enough... I will let you know after I finish the last seven...

Tessie came along as I was digging around and decided that I needed help... Oh goodie!
I then went to the ring case.  It has some of the bracelets that I have done on memory wire.

There weren't quite enough to cover Tessie's mouth and keep her from adding comments.

At least when I clean this out, she gets quiet.  This is where she gets to try on the hat rings.

Today she tried to make the bracelets into something for herself... It didn't really work, but she kept trying.  She can't walk when she does that, so it didn't last long.

I tried to show her the new beads that I bought this morning.  Not her size.  She just plain wasn't interested. She started searching through the fruit box again... now she wants a peach tree and an apple tree.

I can't win!
I went into another room and started searching through a drawer in my grandmother's sewing machine.

She didn't really find anything in there.  I did find a few things that I think that I may be able to use... We shall see...
I got as far as the first shelf of the bead bookcase.  She jumped to the second one and threw up her hands in dismay.

She announced, "You aren't allowed to go into these shelves anymore! Not until you finish my potting shed and my living room.

She is being most unreasonable! I want to bead and she wants me to mini.  I am thinking of locking her in a closet somewhere and throwing away the key.

I want to do something besides her projects.  She wants me to do NOTHING but her projects.

Right now she is standing beside the phone on the desk.

If I look to my right, she is standing there with her hands out wide, trying to stop me from typing. It's not working.  Thank Goodness!

I am going back and try to do something that I want to do now.  "Hey Tessie! How about a dozen chocolate chip cookies?

I think that will keep her busy for a little while.  Wish me luck.  See you tomorrow.

I Want That In My Size!!!

Here we go again.  Tessie saw the watch when I got home from the Wednesday Witches meeting.

She immediately announced that she wants one like it in her size... I really don't think that they make watch faces in a size that would fit her.

Dream on Tessie my girl!

When I told her no to the watch, she tried for this pendant that is recently wire wrapped.

Maybe with really fine wire and a tiny pebble of a stone, I could reproduce this one... I am not going to try right now...
I am making progress on Christmas socks for next year.  Just a toe to go on this one.

I think that I am going to stay inside tomorrow. It is supposed to rain.  Maybe I can get a lot more done in the workroom.

I am thinking of moving a couple of things around in there.  The desk may just make a right hand turn.  I have had it that way before and liked it.  We shall see...

See you here tomorrow with changes!

Big Mistake...

No Not the Thompson Seedless grape vine I planted.  That was on purpose.

The mistake was on the part of the Terrible Two.

They are forcing me to bead the handles on my pliers.
I got out the bead box that I had been working from.  There were two unfinished watch bands inside.  The top one is almost done.

The bottom one is not even close. It looks finished, but the watch has to be(somehow) attached to the band.  That step takes a while.

The watch band is off of an old plastic watch that died a horrible death, years ago.
I liked the band, so I saved it.

Did I mention that I am going to finish those before I start on the handles of the pliers?

Oh... And I still have seven other watch faces that need bands.

How exactly is beading the jewelry tools supposed to make me want to do minis?

I did something this morning that is way more likely to do the job.

I went back to the very first blog entry and came forward.  I got as far as July of the year that I started writing... It's hard to believe that I have written every day for that long. I had forgotten some of the early tutorials that I did in the beginning.

If you ever decide to do that with any blog, You have to start at the bottom of the page and work your way up, one entry at a time.  Blogger has them arranged so that the oldest one is at the bottom of each page.

I think that this is the time of year that I usually get nostalgic about that... On February 23 I will have written 3,650 entries +. There were a few days that I did extra entries. That is 10 years worth!

The blog has kept me going all that time.  It's hard to be unhappy when you have so many friends following, reading and making comments.  Thank you all for hanging in here with me! Maybe I will try for another ten years, starting on the 24th of February.

See you tomorrow!

Telling Time...

We are Back to Wednesday Witches!

This afternoon, I took my Delica beads to sort.  They were all out of order, color wise and I couldn't find anything.

Now I can.

I have one of the watches that I got at Goodwill almost finished.
Only seven more to go after this one...All of the watches that I purchased are still running.

Amazing that people will throw away a perfectly good watch rather than buy a new battery.

I am going to have a new wardrobe of watches!
I took this band off of an old watch that I had, when I put a new one on it.

Now I think that I can save this one by just putting new beadwork around the bars for the wrist bands. We shall see...

Anyway, I feel good about what I did today.  Now I can get serious about beading new bands for all of them.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.
