Possibilities...Metalwork...

I was watching You Tube videos at random, night before last...On one of them someone was making jewelry with this stuff.

I had a light bulb moment. If it works over wood pieces for jewelry, it would certainly work for minis over balsa or bass.

I grabbed a roll at Walmart yesterday morning. It was almost eight bucks, but It will last almost forever.

The sticky back on it is a bit thicker than on regular tape.  It is used to waterproof things, so I guess it has to be.

There is a blue backing on it so that you can cut it to shape before you get your scissors stuck to the stuff.  Works well.  Don't peel it off until you have the cuts made. The voice of experience...
The first piece was Very Sticky!

I first tried it on a piece of balsa.  It is soft and the balsa is also soft.  It works, but not a sharp line.  I used two different ball stylus tools on it.  Then I tried one of my spear like stylus tool.  That worked the best to get a narrow line.

The rivets?  I retracted the lead in a mechanical pencil and poked it in.  Then the bottom row I just did with the smallest ball stylus.

The different colors that you see on this one is just rub on paste that I have had for a long time. Kind of like Rub 'n' Buff.

After that, I tried it with a scrap of bass wood.  I like that better.  More control over what is happening.

This first photo is just the plain.  No color added. 

After that I painted Ceramcoat Charcoal gray on this one. Then I rubbed it off with a tissue.

That definitely made it more real...

I free handed all of this, except for the straight lines.  You have to be very sure where you want to put things.  If you slip...you can't go back and re do any of it.


The square next to my name, I went over with a stylus and roughed it up and I messed up the edge just a bit.  It doesn't look all that bad, but there is no going back.

All in all, I am pleased with the results. It was a lot of fun to play with.  I see more of this technique in the future.  Especially if I turn the Brimbles into a Steampunk Emporium...

Last, but not least, I got a present yesterday...Walter brought it in from the mail box and when I opened it, I found this tee shirt. 

The package said, "to Casey from Tessie and Zar".  I am a bit suspicious.  It looked like
Walter's handwriting...I may have to change that name from Terrible Two to Terrible Three...

Anyway, I am the proud owner of a black tee shirt with Zar and Tessie on the front...

I have a feeling that there will be a few questions about what I served to over a million...I've got some explaining to do...
