Freak Out and Throw Things!

This weekend, I did some wandering... On the computer.  I wanted things to hang on the wall and books and magazines.

I put Steampunk in the MSN search box and then hit images.  That always brings up all kinds of things to play with.

I found a Sherlock Holmes poster from an early movie.  Now Daisy can either take it off of the wall or take a bath with Mr. Holmes watching over her.  Tessie doesn't seem to mind.

I found this poster for the "Great Western Air Ship".  Since the walls upstairs are all slanted, I am not going to get fancy framing things.  At least not until everything is in place.

I grabbed several other ones that would work either in Steampunk or in Daisy's place.

I saved them all in a file and then on one piece of card stock, I printed a bunch of stuff.

I first put them in my Printshop 15 program and re sized them to fit on the page.  You can do this with any greeting card program or whatever program you have that will do the job.

This bunch of Magazines came from one of my favorite sites.  Jennifer's Printables. http://www.jennifersprintables.com/ She has all kinds of magazines, posters, food packages and miniature wallpaper for the taking.  Great stuff.

The clock face, I got somewhere else.

I found the paper Tardis to put together just by doing a search for "Tardis images". It was supposed to be one that fit on an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet.  I simply reduced it in all directions.

Everything that you see here was printed on one piece of cardstock.

My favorite thing is the poster that I hung in the kitchen.  It won't be seen unless you put your head far to the right and peak in at the left wall.

There are so many versions of the WWII poster... "Keep Calm and Carry On"...  I was looking for different versions, again on images.  I liked the one with the reference to "Big Bang Theory".  "Keep calm and Sing Soft Kitty".  But then I saw this one and thought that it made more sense than any of the others.

Hey!  The sign fits.  It looks like someone freaked out and threw things in the kitchen right now.  I have to stop typing and get to work on that kitchen...

See you tomorrow.

I'm Melting...................

That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

OK. Would you believe that the dog ate my homework and I don't have anything to turn into a blog entry?

Well, the truth is, I had Wednesday Witches here this afternoon and they were afraid to go home in the rain for fear of melting.....

It has been pouring all afternoon. We have big puddles in the back yard and Tessie is getting worried about the wet stuff coming into the house under the door.

I keep telling her she is safe. She's not having any of it.
She looks out the window, points at the puddles and says, "I could melt! Witches do melt, you know. It's something to do with the water. Have you ever tried pouring water on sugar. It melts every time. I am like sugar...." I nod my head and pretend to agree....."Uh huh...Just like sugar."

Not likely. Anyway, you didn't drop in to watch Tessie melt, so I have to send you somewhere to keep you amused for a while.

Here is a printable mini site that I don't think that I have shown you before. http://picasaweb.google.com/imprimiblesmini Poke the thumbnails and see lots of new stuff to play with. Then poke the resultant thumbnails individually to make them printable size. Just this one site should keep you busy for quite a while if you haven't visited it before.

I have to go keep Tessie from getting wet now. There is nothing messier than a melting witch. I hope that we will be back to semi-normal by tomorrow.

See you then.

Little Boxes in the Attic....Soon....

This is going to be short and sweet today. Tessie wants lots of storage boxes for her attic. I have just now printed them. I probably won't get them made and ready until tomorrow. I have other things that need to be done in the real world today.

These boxes were off of one of my favorite sites for printies. If you have not been there, I suggest that you go. Jim's site is one that I discovered when I first started working with the computer and have used it many times. He always seems to have what I need. http://www.printmini.com/printables/

I needed storage boxes and he had them. Tessie is very excited. She will now have a place to store her Ant Whiskers, Caterpillar Fur and other things. She is busily making labels. There is one labeled Misc. Parts. I don't think I want to see what she is going to store in that box.

I noticed that she has one labeled Pond Scum....I don't think that is going to work in a box. Now we are going to have to start looking for bottles too.

If you do the plain boxes, be sure to fold the ink to the inside. It will look more like a real box. That's what I am going to do with these. Then Tessie will have to glue the labels on the outside.

Anyway, while I am doing other things, she told me to remind you of her favorite French printies site. I ran onto this one via a French embroidery blog. http://minipitou.free.fr/ If you are interested in boxes, this site has lots of places to go look. On the first page go to "imprimables". Then you can look under "boites" or translate it with babel fish or Google and you will find that it has a vast collection of all kinds of sites for all kinds of printies. It also has all kinds of tutorials listed.

Have a good day and have fun searching.

See you tomorrow.
