Going in Circles...

Well, maybe not quite in circles... more like spirals...

I started a Christmas basket this morning..  Had a rough time getting it started, but am now on my way...
I didn't realize how low I was on rods to weave with.  I am going to have to roll more...

Kota tried to help by batting at the rolls for a while.  When I stopped him, he gave up and took a nap.  I am sure that I won't get through the whole basket without his help...
The reason for no minis this morning was the sewing chest at the heart of this photo.

It was falling apart.  Not an antique.  Made in the 60s or 70s. I decided to make it into a planter.  It may not last for years, but I decided to enjoy it while it does last.

It's hard to see.  I planted succulents in the top and with any luck,  some of them will spill overt the edge.

It's just too nice to stay inside.  Mid 70s and counting.

The birdhouse is still going strong.  I don't expect any birds to live in it.  It is too low and too easy for predators to get into.

I have only lost the dill plants that I had in here.  I replaced them with a couple of the Mother of Millions today.  It was just too cold in there for the dill.

I also hung a birdhouse on the trellis behind the tub.  I am going to take it back down and add some details to it.  Too plain and boring.  I see shingles and paint in my future.

I had and ECG earlier this morning.  Yup.  The heart is still beating. This is the third one.  Easiest test of all... I just lay there and enjoy counting holes in the ceiling tile.  It had to be done.  They are talking about operating for the cancer the first part of next month.

I am still thinking that I won't miss too much of the blog.  If I do, I will talk Walter into taking over for a few days.  He was a journalism major in college and is capable of doing so.  If he doesn't want to write anything, I can always dictate to him... I really don't want to break the streak.  In February, it will be eight years of writing every day!

Back to basket weaving.

See you tomorrow.

You have been a brave soldier in this battle right along. Wishing you the best outcome in the surgery. It is quite likely you will be able to post if only briefly. Pain medication might be the main difficulty due to it turning you into a sleeping beauty state for a while. But hopefully that won't be the case as with the micro surgery techniques healing goes fast and the need for pain medication is minimized. All I needed after my complete hysterectomy was some Ibuprofen for a few days.

I am writing this message just a few hours after having an eye surgery on my right eye to fix a macular issue. But I did have a long nap and I have the screen much enlarged so I can see what I am doing with my left eye. Good thing I can touch type as I have no depth perception with a patch over my right eye. So no mini making for me today.

Keeping you in my daily prayers, Casey! Take care! I'm sure Walter will look after your blog. Plus, we will want to know how you are!

What a great idea for that old sewing cabinet! And yes, Karin's right. The microsurgeries they do for most stuff these days allows for quicker healing and less discomfort during the healing process. I hear boredom is the biggest part so you may actually be doing more blogging lol. Best of luck to you, as always!
