Today Is The Day!!!!

This is how I get the braid for the wicker. I pin six strands of waxed cord to a pillow an turn Tessie loose.  I have to untangle her every once in a while, but as a rule, it works pretty well.

As soon as we finished all the work, Zar reappeared and helped test sit.

So did Spike.  His table manners aren't too good though.

As you can see, all of the pieces are woven and ready for upholstering.

I will wait until the winner's name is drawn to do that.  That way the fabric will go with the taste of the new owner.

Here's the rules.  There are 1010 followers as of this writing.  Those are the eligible people.  No more.

The comments will be on this entry of the blog.

You must be one of those 1010 followers. One entry per person.

I am curious about how long people have been following and it would help me to find you on the list if you don't have a profile.  People with profiles are really helpful, because I can check your list of blogs you follow.  One way or the other, it would be fun to know how long you have been around, so please put that in your comment.

You will have until Wednesday August 15th, midnight, my time to comment on this entry only.

Bright and early, Thursday morning, Tessie will be drawing a name...It may take a while if all 1010 people comment....I am not sure how Blogger would handle that one.  I am pretty sure that isn't going to happen though...

Good luck to you.  The winner gets all four pieces.  Chair, table, settee and footstool, with fabric of choice.  I will contact the winner Thursday.

See you tomorrow.

I would love to win your wicker set!! I can just imagine how many times Tessie had to be untangled! I am not sure how long I have been following you. All the time that I have had this blog. But I had a different blog before and was a follower on that one also. So it has been a few years now. Time goes so fast. Plus I see you on the Greenleaf forum board. Guess we run in the same circles. lol Hugs, Teresa

I love all your entries. I still refer back to some of them.

Thank you so much!!! I have no idea when I signed onto your blog...I'm guessing 1-4 years ago....more likely 1-2 years ago. I do have a profile. As you may have surmised, I do not have a doll house but if I win this set of furniture, I have already identified a place on my bookshelf. It would be a great way to showcase the few miniatures I have. Thank you, again, for your generosity and all your tutorials andentertaining escapdes (a la Tessie, Zar, etc)!

Hi Casey, I don't have a blog but I've read your blog daily for at least the last 4 years and just recently learned how to follow it without having a blog (I'm slow I know). I love seeing what Tessie is up to and your projects are a true source of inspiration. I traveled all over the country last year with a couple of the travel kits in eyeglass cases that I put together from your instructions. Thank you for blogging, you are a fabulous artist!

Hi Casey - I've read your blog off and on (the whole thing with Tessie threw me in the beginning), but according to my "bookmark" I've been reading you daily since January of this year. I've never signed up to "follow" a blog before, but did so after reading your post a few days ago, saying you were trying to get to 1000 (the count changed to 964 when I signed up). I have bookmarked a long list of your tutorials, and I'm slowly working my way through all of them. I try to share them with the other members of the miniatures club I belong to. I have become totally "hooked" on making canisters and tiny little boxes from tampon tubes! The thing I appreciate the MOST about your blog, is that you post EVERY SINGLE DAY. What dedication...and generosity. - Sharon

Congrats on all the followers.

Hi Casey,

sorry I don't find in my profile the time I joined in, but I think it's been a couple of years now. I love how Tessie has torn the wall between the miniature world and ours. My dolls have all kinds of demands and wishes too, but they are not at all so much present in this world. Your blog is wonderful and inspiring and makes me sometimes wonder if you have more hours in your day... It's a good thing to wonder as it sometimes leads to action instead of consideration (well, procrastination really).

Thanks for the opportunity to take part in the draw!

Wow! Over 1000 followers! I have been following you since 2009. Yours was one of the first blogs I started to follow and I have learned so much from you over the years. The magic you have with Tessie inspired me to use Julie and David to tell the story of my dollhouse. And it was an honour to be considered with you last year for the the Readers Choice award. I am so glad that you won it again this year as you certainly deserved it. No one is more dedicated, consistent and sharing as you are and Tessie certainly adds a lot of fun and interest. Thank you for all you have shared.

Hi Casey! I have been unofficially following you for about a year and a half now. (Not being super computer-smart, I didn't know that there was a way to follow you officially until last week!)
In Feb of 2011 I quit smoking. At first I just replaced smoking with eating. After just a week or so, I realized that I needed to do something more constructive. I bought a dollhouse kit for my daughter and for many months every time I wanted a cigarette I went to work on the dollhouse instead. Right away I found your blog and have checked it faithfully every day. That first dollhouse turned out great, and your posts gave me the inspiration to attempt a much larger house the second time around!

So now I'm still smoke free but addicted to minis instead!

Hi! I've been following your blog since last summer... and I admire your work so much! You were the one who inspired me to start my own miniatures blog, which I've been neglecting a bit as late (I'll get back to it, as soon as I can work myself up to rewallpapering a room or five!)

I'm from a city near Houston, so I sooo get the weather thing! This summer is brutal!

Right now I'm struggling with figuring out how to make a decent birdcage! I don't really have access to powertools, so I'm doing a lot of it with glue and guesswork.

Anyway, sorry for rambling! I'd love to have a piece of yours in my chaotic, crooked dollhouse.

I cannot say with absolute certainty who is ultimately responsible for my "discovering" your blog, but I can narrow it down to two...The Mini Food Blog, or Creating Dollhouse Miniatures. Either way, ever since I have been hooked, much like one is "addicted" to their first cup of morning coffee. When I flip on the computer, I go directly to my Favorites and scroll down to "Casey's," and like an on-going soap opera, I just have to know what you, Tessie, Zar and Nellie are up to. I'm never disappointed. I always go away with a smile on my face, something else to add to my "To-Do" list, or just left hanging until tomorrow! LOL Thank you for all of your energy, enthusiasm and "inspiration." I agree with all of the other entrants, you are an amazing talent, Casey, and it is much appreciated that you take the time to share your knowledge, experience and expertise with us. This is truly a Miniatures 101!!! I don't own any wicker, so this would be a real treat. Oh how I would love to incorporate this lovely set into one of my many porches. Let's see which one would it be...the "Shabby" chic Katherine, all frilly and feminine? The grand Victorian solarian surrounded by Boston ferns, potted palms, colorful flowers and ornate birdcages filled with chattering birds? The attached side-porch of my beloved M.E. Kitchen roombox? Poor thing, it stands totally devoid of "life" save one tall potting table with red, potted geraniums. I could go on, and on, but space is limited. I'll just resign myself to sitting on the edge of my chair, crossing my fingers and hoping. Good luck to everyone! : )
