MRIs Can Be Fun...

Well, not really, but the second one is way better than the first one.  At least you know what to expect... I had my second one this morning.  I requested classic rock music to mask the sound of the machine... Aerosmith, Queen and others.  It was fine until the very last song... They need to rethink their lineup. I am still laughing at their selection... The last song was "Stairway to Heaven"! I am still laughing about that.
I am supposed to be behaving myself and drinking lots of fluids today, so I am not going to stand on my head to finish the kitchen in the Forest Fantasy Cottage until tomorrow.

Instead I decided that the only way to figure out how I was doing on Christmas knitting was t drag out ALL of the sock yarn stash and evaluate... I am so glad that I did!!!The first photo is the worst and best part.  All of the sock yarn that Jane sent me a few years ago is my downfall.  I keep trying new ones to see how they will turn out.  I do love that yarn.  It never turns out as expected and is always pretty. Believe it or not, I have finished quite a few pairs from that stash.  I am working as fast as I can...

Tessie got into the first two photos.  She wants a sleeping bag out of the purple beside her in the first photo to match her apron... In the second one, she just wanted in... Any sock will do for a sleeping bag.

That photo was a saving grace.  I found TWO pair of socks and several singles that I made last year... I should explain that the socks somehow got separated and put in different stashes... I have two pair of socks made and several singles.  So I am well on my way to Christmas success!  Not nearly as much to do as I thought.
I took this photo after Tessie left the room.  This pair can wait until after Christmas.  I started myself a pair of witchy socks a while ago... And them promptly put the plain yarns in a separate basket from all the rest and forgot about them.

Now all I have to do is finish them without Tessie seeing them.  If she sees them, she is going to want a pair for herself.  I am NOT knitting socks with sewing thread!  No way! No how!  Please don't rat me out!

Back to putting all the extra yarn away.

See you tomorrow with more cottage done!

When I had an MRI in September the staff was amazed that I passed on having music and was not bothered at all by the noise. I an totally used to loud thumping and whining machine sounds. It has been a normal part of my life for a lot of years often on a daily basis with sometimes 8 or more hours a day of it at work. When you are a Rosie the Riveter you don't even startle when people drop noisy pans on the floor in the kitchen. The noise at the dentist does not bug me either.

Your socks are colorful wonders! I am sure they are a popular gift in your family.

I'm glad you're still enjoying that yarn!

Thanks again, Jane! I enjoyed some of it again last night. I worked on an already started pair. No more starting until I finish some!

I have yet another MRI next Wednesday, myself. I usually choose classical music but they choose such soft songs that I can barely hear them. This time I'm taking my iPod to see if they can just plug in my current audio book ;)

Hi Casey. I'm just getting around to reading your blog from yesterday.I have been
going through my stash of yarn projects too lately. I find the disadvantage of having
several unfinished projects at once is that the needles I want for a new project are
already in use. So it's time to finish a few things.
I still have not tried knitting socks, but I have been looking at the patterns again.
It doubt if any of my family would appreciate my doing that much work for socks. I'm
a slow knitter and they look like a major project. I'm sure the first pair would be
for myself because I know I would appreciate them.

Phyllisa, I started with several pair for myself. When April started hinting that she would like a a pair, I was off and running on girl socks. I much prefer those to boy socks. They take a lot longer. Size!
