The Mad Label Maker!

That's what people are going to be calling me for the next few days.

I have had it.  I want order!  I started with the back of the door.  It has a large shoe keeper that I have had since the early 80s.

I have never found anything more convenient for storing spray paint and other large bottles.  All of the cans are in site and can be grabbed at a moment's notice.

The bouncy blue guy, hanging from the door, is one that April had when she was a toddler...  I think that I always liked him better than she did.

Next, I moved to the right wall.  I went from top to bottom and straightened everything as I went. According to one of my favorite You Tube channels, "Do It On A Dime", when you clean out and reorganize, you should allow 20 percent empty space for things that you will find or buy in the future.

I didn't quite make that, but I do have a half a shelf and a couple of nooks and crannies open.  I am going to allow for more space in some of the other shelves.

The tower to the left of the door is already done also.
The jewelry shelves are officially done.  As I am going along, I am re-labeling the boxes that need it.

You will have to take my word for the fact that the drawers are reorganized and labeled in my head.  I actually know that the flat wood is in the top drawer.  The middle is wallpaper.  The bottom is larger pieces of embroidery cloth and hoops.  Beneath there are two baskets full of knitting and crochet thread and yarn.
The saw table area was pretty clean and didn't need any labels.

But...  The corner bookshelf was another story.  I have it almost finished... All of the blue lidded boxes are school pencil boxes from Walmart.  I waited until they went on sale and got them for next to nothing. They are great for storing small items.  For instance, I have three of them that have different kinds of punches and fancy scissors in them. I have various projects in some of them.  Extra pencils.  Anything that I have a lot of, but not enough to fill a drawer.

I still need to clean out the cartonnage box and the bottom shelf.  I am not sure what is down there.

Anyway, one wall down and three to go!

Back to the pit!

See you tomorrow.

Nothing beats a good label making bonanza. Or the adrenaline rush of organizing your minis and enjoying the cleanliness until a new project starts!

The only trouble is... I'm in the middle of two other projects. Not between!

Hi Casey. I like many of your ideas for storing small things. They have always boggled my mind.
Thanks for your tips and tricks.
I will be using a few.
When your back-of-door shoe bag
disintegrates, consider a back-of-door shelving unit. I've used one for many years. They hold spray cans and bottles, etc. They are much more sturdy and long-lasting. Mine have been up about 10 years. They have the option of screwing the unit to the door, which I did not use because hollow-core doors do not hold screws well and I want to be free to move the unit. They are also excellent to hold office supplies in my office.

Phyllisa, I have you beat. I have been using that shoe holder for OVER 20 years! I had it way before we moved to this house, 20 years ago. It doesn't look a day over 10!
