I Am Shingling! Honest!

OK.  So I'm not shingling with one hand and typing with the other, but I am shingling today.

Yesterday afternoon, I heard clunking and banging coming from the workroom...

I looked in and the Terrible Two plus One were ransacking the place. Zar filled the drawer of the work bench and in fact needed something bigger to put treasures in.

They were looking for stuff for the Brimble's.

By the time I found them, they had dumped everything out of one of my boxes of jewelry supplies, decorated it with cog wheels and a label...
It was too late to change directions... They snared me to help.

OK.  I admit it.  I volunteered.  This looked like a lot more fun than shingling.

They had already been through two of the bead boxes and had a good many bits and bobs in the box.

I couldn't object to any of it.  We have a large store to fill.

I thought that you might like to see some of the Junque.  It's really junk, but if it is going to be used and looks interesting, it's Junque, with a capital "J".

I have been collecting Junque for a long time.  Some of this is probably more than 20 years old.

The watch pieces at the left, were a gift from Grace of TreeFeathers blog.  I haven't heard anything about her for a while now.  I'm going to have to go searching for her and thank her again...

I used a lot of them when I was working on the Clockwork Cottage.  That's about when she sent them to me.

The cog wheels to the right were from one of the craft stores.

I won't go into all of the items, but the small compartment to the right is all watch faces.
Various interesting jewelry findings that might work.

Chains and more chains of all sorts.
These are three of my favorites.  One is a big brass clock, inside piece.  The other one is a Waltham watch interior that has engraving and is bejeweled.

The last piece is a WWII era necklace.  The links are heavy brass and the whole thing is about 18"long.  If it was ever worn, I don't think that it was worn very long.  The thing is really heavy and uncomfortable.  This is the underside.  The top side is just plain flat brass.  I would like to know the story that went with it.

Anyway, I hope that this is more interesting than photos of shingles. I came in to take photos and  they made me promise to come back and help as soon as I was done with the blog.

See you tomorrow.
