Another Shelf Bites the Dust....

I got one more of the shelf units straightened this morning...I actually got it straightened without getting side tracked... No new projects started...

Maybe later today...Wednesday Witches mini meeting... Need something to do there.
I did some more on the rug last night... I did the count...  This one will have 31,800 stitches.  I am determined.  It's fun, not knowing what is going to happen next.

I am almost all the way around the small outer boarder.  I will be pleased when that is finished.

I decided to keep the dark rose color in the grape pattern. I want the rug to look worn.
This morning, I went in to find Tessie "trying out" new things in the bedroom.

She found an old, too small mattress and stole borrowed all of Zar's den pillows, a couple of silk rugs and a rug that I started as an experiment a couple of years ago.

I hate to say it, but she is pushing for me to finish the one I made... That means new color for the walls too...

When I say experiment, I mean I used a number of plain embroidery stitches on top of the cross stitch.  That means that it is going to take even longer than one that is just cross stitched.

She turned her nose up at the silk ones... She told me, "Those are done on a  machine.  Not at all in the spirit of the house!".

I went on line and searched images of North African bedrooms and bathrooms last night.  I am finding that they are pretty much what I pictured in my head.  I think that I have a couple of articles, from years ago, about the decor of that area, too.  I am drawn to the patterns of that part of the world.

I assume that Daisy would like them too.  She sent us a note to say that she has left Egypt.  I do wish she would stay in a present day setting.  It is very difficult to communicate with her about the house... the last note she left, said she was going to Paris for the revolution... I do hope she isn't friends with the king...

I am going back to work now.  Tessie just told me that she can get in touch with Daisy anytime...They communicate by time telepathy, whatever that is.  I guess the problem is solved for now.

See you tomorrow.

I like the idea of embroidery on top of cross stitch. Endless possibilities but lots of work.

Hello Casey,
I must say, the new carpet has just been started and already it looks beautiful. The colors you chose are great and have that antique look. I have to try my hand at embroidery one day. your posts make we want to try so many new things.
Big hug,
Giac

Hi Casey! So does this mean that you are going to go for a Moroccan look? How exactly would you interpret North African? I do like the mattress on the floor and the scattered loose cushions. Tessie looks quite comfortable, but what does Daisy think?
