Slowly, But Surely.....

I am in the first stages of painting.  I finally wised up.  I am painting the inside of the porch before I actually add the outside.

I have the first coats of paint on the slate.  More to go.  And then the Prismacolor pencils and mat varnish.  I had to come back and clarify!  I went back to egg carton for the slate.  The terra cotta tile was too smooth and I wanted a random pattern.

While that was drying some, I moved on to some of the rocks on the wall above.

I either have to move the house to a higher table or find a shorter place to sit.  I was working sideways until my neck started getting stiff.

 I want the rocks on this house to look a bit dark and dreary. 

So far, so good.

I moved up to the peak of the roof, thinking that would relieve my neck...  Just a different kind of stiff neck.  This time looking up all of the time. 

I am thinking of sacrificing the TV and moving to the kitchen counter or table.  I need someplace eye level.

These photos look like two different stone types.  They are actually pretty much the same color.  The lighting is just different.

I need to get back to work.  This is one of those things that is going to take longer than I think. 

I go at this like I was doing a painting of a wall and not just painting a wall.   Each stone is painted one at a time. Slowly, but surely...
