Yup. As soon is the painting was done, the Terrible Two plus One showed up.
I haven't seen them in a couple of days. I was working and they didn't like the work that I was doing. Therefore, they disappeared...
They're Baaack.....
I finished painting the rest of the porch this morning. From the looks of the photos, I need to darken the slate. No contrast between that and the stone.
Do you know how I figured that out? I overheard the conversation that Tessie and Zar were having on the roof.
Tessie: It's blah...
Zar: It needs to be darker...
Spike just let out a heavy sigh. I value his opinion more than the other two, combined.
Spike is right. I need to darken the floors.
Then I can permanently fasten the house to the foundation board.
I had to move it around a few different ways.
It seems that I didn't have the tree staircase in mind, when I did the board...
The house, with staircase, only fits if it is positioned on an angle. With that placement, the tree would be in the front corner of the board...
The alternative is pushing the whole house to the back left corner. That puts the tree about half way back on the board.
I am thinking that this is not as pleasing, but I think it is more practical.
I think that people passing by are less apt to hit the branches in the second position.
I am going to go think about this for a bit.
If you see the Terrible Two and Spike running for the hills, you will know that I have decided and am getting out the giant glue bottle.
All three of them want nothing to do with that. Fear of getting stuck to the board keeps them out of the way... Sometimes that bottle saves me a lot of time and trouble.
So far, the new kit is leaning towards Steampunk. It's not even here yet and I am already moving windows and staircases on it. Back to the drawing board and the BIG glue bottle.
See you tomorrow.

Ooh, steampunk. Now I am excited as well! And I already can't wait to see the tree staircase.
Unfortunately the staircase is a little ways away. I have to have the roof on the house, before I start that. That means finishing the hard parts of the bottom floor, like the draperies, before that happens...Hang in there. It's coming.
Spike sure is a sage when it comes to advice. I think the house in the pushed-back position will give you a lovely little garden space in front. I wonder what kind of plants will be in Daisy's garden? Probably something exotic and mysterious hey?
Lene, don't you imagine that Daisy, being Daisy, will have some daisies growing in her garden?...Sorry. I couldn't resist.....
I love the grey stone! It has such character!
