Hey! It Works!

OK.  I cut out the pieces for the triangular table this morning.  It has a ways to go with carving and finishing, but is certainly is going to work.

I am doing it out of walnut, suitable for carving, but I don't think that it is going to have a very intricate design.

Three pieces and a bar to sit the back of the table on is all it is going to take.

I also found this braided rug in my stash.  I don't remember why I made it, but it goes fairly well in here, so for the time being, it gets to stay.

It is made of the over dyed, embroidery thread.  I used all six strands and braided three of them.  Then I stuck them to light weight pellon.  Starting in the center and spiraling outward.  After it dried, I gave it a good pressing with the iron and trimmed off the extra backing.

I fear that I am going to have to do a whole new bed.  The only one that I had to try was one of the very first dressed beds I made.  I think that it is #5.

It covers the whole window and besides, it is too fancy for Daisy.  Knowing her, she would probably be satisfied with a hammock or a pile of pillows to sleep on. The little table is just to indicate that I could get something on that wall.  The bathroom wall will be there.  I will have the same shape as the wall behind the bed.

I will probably try to keep the door in the center of the wall.  I haven't cut that yet.

I made a trip to 22nd Street Antique mall yesterday.  I found these two birdcage CD shelves.  I think that they are meant to be standing on the floor or a table, but I decided that, until I make something half scale in them, they will hang over the worktable.

I am filling them with some of the furniture and accessories that will go in Daisy's place.

The Terrible Two have already taken over one of the shelves.  It is just even with the TV on the next wall.  Ringside seats, for both TV and directing the building of Daisy's Cottage.

The two prints between them are the ones that I had hanging in the laundry closet to give it more class.  The laundry closet is no longer classy... I need to go straighten it up and rearrange things in there.  Yes...I do actually do housework once in a while....

See you tomorrow, with a clean laundry closet...Real life in Arizona sometimes gets in the way of all the fun.

Hi Casey. Yes, I have noticed that real life gets in the way of FUN and all the time too!
The triangular table is an interesting solution to a small eating space. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with for this house.

Hi Casey! The triangular table seems to be just the ticket and fits so well in the alloted space. I agree that the bed appears to be quite fancy for the homey style that the cottage seems to be leaning towards but the size looks good.
The bird cages are so pretty and look wonderful on the wall. Way to go Casey, C D 's out, Miniatures IN!

Elizabeth, once I put on the roof, it will be close quarters. Daisy would almost have to crawl into bed from the foot. That could get tiresome...

I can now see the benefit of the triangular table. It fits in the space well without taking up too much of the room. I love the birdcage CD cases.
