I found this photo cube at Walmart earlier this year. I decided that it would be a good way to end 2013. It is perfect for a small half scale room.
Quick project... That is if you don't try to rush it too much.
The cube is raw wood that you can finish any way you like. I chose to stain it with Min-Wax Provincial. I really like the color, but....
There are four inserts of glass and three of pressed board that can be inserted behind or left out. Why three? I am not sure, but it suited my purposes. One for the floor and two for two of the four walls.
I covered two of the panels with the same paper on both sides. It's a Brodanax 1/2" scale paper. It looked great and lined up just right on the board.
Without thinking, I decided to try it out in the slots....I am sure that you know what is coming...
There was still stain in the bottom channels of the frames. Oops! At least I only put one of them in.
It's either patch or use a different paper. Not enough to start over completely... Bad words inserted here!
The floor panel is covered with some old Joe Hermes paper with parquet wood floor pattern.
This is not going to be anything fancy, so I opted for the paper route.
Anyway, I now have to go solve the problem that I caused. Wish me luck.
See you tomorrow.

What a fabulous little container for a miniature. I have never seen photo cubes like that over here but will definitely be keeping an eye out.
