This is how I spent my morning. It took me over three hours to do, but was worth every minute.
Some people call it a Smorgastarta... I just call it a sandwich cake. Especially since I didn't do it with the traditional fillings.
I started with an uncut loaf of Sheep Herder's Bread. I cut off the outside crust and sliced it in four layers.
Between the first and second layer, egg salad. Second to third Ham and two kinds of cheese and honey mustard. Between the third and fourth, chicken salad.
After that came the fun part. The frosting was two eight ounce packages of cream cheese, sour cream to make it the consistency of butter cream frosting, some Parmesan cheese, grated and some garlic salt. After that I just kept adding sliced veggies and other stuff, until it was mostly covered.
There were nine of us and not much cake left...Did I mention that we had real chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert? We did.
As I said before, not many minis...
After we ate everything in site and talked until we settled all of the problems of the world, I showed off the Bloomie's room box...
We found Tessie and Zar laid back and lounging. Evidently all is forgiven and they are back to tolerating one another...No word on who the room belongs to today...It changes at least once every 24 hours...
I am not getting in the middle. May the best being win... Maybe I will just keep it for myself!
I wonder if they would take a piece of the cake in trade? It's a possibility...

Hi Casey! Your cake looks Delish! The very pretty layers are flavorful and by the sounds of it, it must have taken longer to assemble than to consume! Yummy! The Bloomies roombox is moving along steadily and it won't be much longer until it is ready for decorating. Looks good!

Sandwich cake is one of my favorite things, but I musts ay I have never seen one that beautiful. The room is not finished but already looks amazing.

I wish I could sit and relax in the conversation pit with Tessie and Zar. I'm sure having a conversation with those two would be a very entertaining event!
