Definitely Mighty!!

The Mighty Mite is back in business.  Poor little machine.  I have had it over twenty years and it is still going strong.

I pilfered some of the drill bits from that cheapo machine that I got last week.

This little guy never fails to get the job done.  I figured out a way to cut the curves in some of my gourds with it.

I don't have a saw that will cut that fine and it would have to be open ended, in order not to cut straight through both sides of the gourd at once.

I simply drilled a line of very fine holes close together, along the line that I wanted to cut....

I did try this with an Exacto first....The gourds are way too tough.

With the holes drilled through the skin of the gourd, I can simply cut between them with the nose of a saw or the Exacto.  Works like a charm.
I got all of these cut and drilled in the last hour and a half.

No....I am not weaving more baskets....These are for coiling.  Different animal altogether.

Tessie talked me into making one into a bird house for her blue jay.  That could be an interesting experiment.

I think that I have drilled enough holes for today.  I still have this many to go...It could take a while.

All I really meant to do when I went into the workroom was to clean a bit...somehow, all I got done was everything up off of the floor and the floor swept.

Then the Mighty Mite called my name.  That was the end of cleaning.  He's calling again...

See you tomorrow.

You're early today, Casey! That was a lot of hole cutting you did. It must be addictive? I see Spike is in on the new project. He probably likes the smell of the little gourds. Hope you make that birdhouse!

Hello Casey,
I think the new experiment is a wonderful reason to stop cleaning. I cannot wait to see it.
Big hug,

My first Dremel was a Mighty Mite. I loved it. It eventually gave up and the first replacement was an off brand. It was too wimpy to do much of anything. I now have a really nice Dremel again but it's got a cord. I miss the rechargeable Mighty Mite. :)
