Never Give Tessie a Needle.....

I started working on cleaning my room again this morning...Maybe that should be "continued the never ending job of cleaning my workroom".

While I was doing that, Zar volunteered to cut wires for more wicker.  Between the two of us, we got all of the stuff together for eight chairs.

He found that using a pair of utility scissors from the Dollar Tree was way faster than the usual jeweler's flush cutters.

With those, you can cut a bunch at  time and if he ruins them, we can just go buy another pair...$1.00....

I glued the wires in one of the chairs and he started weaving...Tessie decided that it would be faster if she waxed and fed the wire to him.

I am not sure that was a good idea....She is a great backseat driver...
Last night, I made the mistake of letting Tessie have a turn at the rug...

In her infinite wisdom, she decided that there should be stripes in the middle....

Actually, they are starting to grow on me. Each stripe is four rows of weaving...That will give you some idea of how condensed the weaving is when it is finished.

My big problem now is Bunny.  He has decided that the rug on the loom makes a great trampoline! At least we won't have to test it for strength with him around.

See you tomorrow.

Honestly, Casey. Is there anything you cannot do? Everything that is crafting is within your reach. You are truly a crafting marvel.

Hi Casey. I relate to the "continuing the never-ending job of
cleaning my workroom". Mine is my
Sewing/Craft Room. How can one get
projects done if we always have to
clean?
I'm curious about what you will do with the new chairs.

Phyllisa, first I have to make them. I am basically just getting them ready. This is the part I don't like to do, so I do a bunch. That way I will have the bad part done when I want to weave.

I look forward to seeing the dark thread on the wicker chair. I have just managed to obtain a book on miniature wicker work and I now just have to pluck up the courage to have a go. I did make a couple of pieces back in the 1990s, but they were at workshops with someone watching over me.

The rug is looking great so far. Just what you need though. Bouncing bunnies lol. I can't wait to see the new chairs!

Hi Casey (and gang) Have to agree with you the dollar store utility scissors are actually my go to scissors when other tools are not working for me. (and dollar store cat and dog toe nail clippers, the cat one is nice due to being small) I love reading your blog, I know I can count on a smile a laugh or learn something new each time I read your blog. I love Tessie and Zar if you need a vacation from them send them to my house. :)
