Every little step counts. Each piece of the egg cartons count also.
I started tearing the leftover corners and scraps of egg cartons this morning....
In case you are wondering, the nails match the bracelet that I bought at the gem show a couple of weeks ago. I am not completely insane...Yet.
As you can see, they come apart in layers. I tear some pieces thin and others thick...Random shapes and sizes.
I leave the edge on some of them because some of them will go against the edge of the rocks.
I smear the glue on the intended stone and then put the scrap on that. I smooth each one with my fingertips and spread the glue over the scrap as well as under.
I don't hit every one of the stones with the scraps. If the texture is nice on the original, I leave it as is.
I then work over the whole thing with my trusty double ended ball stylus. One end is larger and that's the one I generally use between stones. I use the small end to make cracks in the stone.
I also finished the structure of the wing chair this morning...Zar and Spike are doing their best to keep it in the room....Tessie is doing her best to get it out. So far it's a tie...
I did a double thread braid for the bottom edge, seat edge and the arms and back. It took over an hour just to braid enough braid for the three places. It's hard to keep the two strands straight and flat as it is braided with such fine thread, but I got it done....Now for the desk.
I have that all wired and ready to go. If I get tired of playing in the glue and scraps, I can do part of that or get back to the rug. I have plenty to keep me busy for the rest of the day, week, month, or more...
See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. Love the cottage! Love the
chair!
Got to go. I've already lost an hour today. We are back on Daylight Savings Time.
Phyllisa
What a great idea to use the scraps to add to some of the stones. It really does add to the texture and realism of the stones.
The chair came out fantastic!
