The Russians Are Coming....Back

It's official....The Russian is winning!

This morning, I went to have my eyes tested for new glasses.  In a week and a half to two weeks, I will be able to see 20/20 again.  Yay!!!

Anyway, when I got back, some changes had been made.  The weaver's cottage was nowhere to be seen....In it's place was the Russian cottage that I started a few years back.

It seems that Tessie wants a place with a warm fireplace to spend the winter months.  Don't ask...I know that the weaver's cottage has a nice big stone fireplace in it...I think that the catch is, it doesn't have any beds to curl up in.

Remember me telling you that you could use the inside of a lot of the neckties, that we were tearing apart for upholstery, for cross stitch?  Here's a good example.  I started a Russian cross stitch towel on a piece of one.  There was a lot of red and black cross stitch done on peasant clothing and household goods.  The cottage will have  some examples when we are done.

I found the photo of the fireplace that I was copying.  It was "stored" inside the cottage. So far, so good...

I was trying to keep all of the stuff together for the cottage....It worked, except for the samovar.  It isn't there.  I have a sneaking suspicion that it is behind the bookcase where the cottage was sitting.

The question is, which would be easier?  Move the bookcase or build a new samovar....I am voting for the latter.

I dragged the house out to the kitchen table to take an overall photo.  Maybe I should have left it where it was.  In there, the foreground was littered.  In the kitchen, the background is messy.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other...

I am going to have Tessie zap it back to the worktable now.  She got it out here.  She can put it back.

For the time being, April's Russian Cottage is on the front burner.

Let's see how long this hold Tessie's attention....I think that she has forgotten that it isn't really her cottage.  I wouldn't want to be April when Tessie remembers...

See you tomorrow.

It's nice to see that sweet little Russian cottage, Casey! I do hope that Tessie finds something to occupy herself to give you the chance to perhaps finish it for April and give it to her for Christmas. Wouldn't that be nice?!! She would be so happy, I'm sure! There isn't that much left to do on it. I love that blue, by the way, and the fans you used as decorative trim.

I love when you jump from house to house and project to project because it makes me feel like I am in good company :) I have always really loved this house-I'm glad it's getting some attention.

Casey, I also love going from one thing to another. Even, when I'm housecleaning, I do that. So cute to see the little guys all doing their thing. That dog just cracks me up! I don't know why! I guess it doesn't take much to crack me up. Oh, well! It doesn't cost anything!
