The Basket is Back....

I know...I said that I wasn't going to bring the laundry basket back in the workroom.  But...It is so much easier to distribute the little things from that, than is is from the floor.

Good news!  I found all of the supplies for the Russian Cottage last night.

See the jar to the left?  That's it!  It has all of the lace and wood needed to finish it.  I was a bit worried, because I couldn't remember where I had hidden the filigree fan blades.  No problem now.

Yes!  That's actually the floor.  I moved the desk back to it's former position in front of the window.  It makes the room look huge....The only problem?  The Terrible Two can sneak up on me now.

To the right, you can see the overrun of all of my jewelry making supplies.

I have most everything in the right area now.  I just have to put everything in its place.
Here's proof that I will be able to walk around the room with ease now.

New Rule:  I can only drop things by the door "to put away later", if they fit on the eight inch square table by the door....Let's see how long that rule lasts.  Three pieces of fabric on top now....They are on their way to the fabric closet.
You were probably wondering about the infamous laundry basket.  Here it is, in all its glory.

I piled books on the shelves to be sorted into categories later today.  The object of the exercise was to see the floor....I did that!

Now I have to refine the sorting.  So far, I am very happy with the results.

I am going to quit for a while and start working on the Russian cottage immediately.  I am thinking window trim will be next.

Did you notice Tessie's new tuffet in the first picture?  You may have to poke the photo to see.  Her new title is Spider Tamer Extraordinaire.  She put him on a leash and is stuffing him with dead flies every time he opens his mouth to complain.  Hey!  It works!

See you tomorrow.

Is the Russian cottage another bird cage? Has the shape of one.

Not a birdcage, but a Greenleaf kit for one of their yearly contests. I never seem to get around to entering, but love the different kits. This one just had an arched roof. I added the peak.

Hi Casey. Congratulations on your
room cleanup! It looks great. I am
making S L O W progress on my Craft
Room. Boy the stuff I found in there!

It is comforting to me to realize
that I HAVE a craft room when so many do not. Also, my philosophy is
"Making it messy means I am using it".

I like the Russian Cottage and I'm glad to see you working on it again.

That room is a crafter's paradise, from what I can see!

Wow! Congratulations! I love your desk by the window. Lots of great natural light. :D

Even your closet is all neat and tidy!

Feeling a bit guilty over here...
My room is still a major disaster area!

I am jealous of your craft room - mess or no mess! Even with my own flat now, I still don't seem to have the room to dedicate to my miniatures! One day... :) The russian cottage looks like an interesting project!

I am really lucky to have a workroom, but kathi, it is the darkest room in the house. There is a huge Mesquite tree outside the window. Never any sun. That's why you always see me working elsewhere.

Loved seeing your work area Casey! I'm with Phylissa, I'm happy to have a room to call my own! That's what happens with us empty nesters! I've just spent the last month working on cleaning up and hoeing out. I adopted your laundry basket while I was working on my room. Anything that I couldn't immediately find a place for, or didn't already have a place for went in to this basket. now I'm pretty much done with the room, for now, but still have this basket of stuff I have to either find a place for or get rid of. Thank you Casey for all that you offer up to help us, inspire us and keep us going! Sincerely, carolyn
