Fun With Strings.....

I had to do another coat of gesso this morning.  There were places where there were holes(lines) between the thread and the background.  I want a solid finish, so it was necessary and besides I had to coat the rest of the box.

Then I had to wait....And wait some more.  It seems like gesso takes longer to dry than regular paint.

Then I painted the whole box with a couple of coats of Trail Tan Ceramcoat.

Now I will sit and wait some more.....And more still....

After it is thoroughly dry, I will antique it with Brown Velvet Ceramcoat.  Watered down.

I am thinking of doing a bit more experimenting with the box before I am done, since it is not a gift or anything special.

Whilst waiting for the paint to dry, I was working on this.  I have the hat done and one sock....I should finish the other sock today.  It is for a friend's baby girl.

That's if I can get it away from Tessie.  She is thinking sleeping bag for one of her naps...

Remind me to take her on a tour of all of the beds in the house, to show her that she doesn't need a sleeping bag.

I am off to watch paint drying now...

OK.  I couldn't wait....Paint dry or not.  I antiqued it and then put just a touch of gold rub on wax to highlight....

I have a couple of other ideas.  Maybe tomorrow....

See you then!

It looks like a tree bending from the winds of a storm! Very effective! I like the finish!

I love the way it looks, Casey! I had to go back a few posts to catch up. Love your Halloween makeup. I used to do stage makeup for shows, when I wasn't acting in them, and you did a good job!

I love the look of the tree, even if it is unfinished. What type of string did you use to achieve this, it looks quite soft.
