If you can't understand anything that I am writing today, it's because I don't understand it myself. Blogger has messed around with the way we do new blog entries again. I am muddling my way through. Sorry...
This is not at all normal.....I can't seem to get paragraphs and spacing right and the photos just land wherever they want to. They could at least give ups a clue as to how to use this new way of doing things.
I started the upper chimney this morning. I am building the inner core from a combination of scraps of foam core and gator board scraps. As you can see, I started out small and then built up the outer layers.
It doesn't look too good so far, but nobody is going to see the inside anyway, I am adding extra layers on the outside so that it will match the bottom.....Sort of....Kind of....Well maybe....
I am really fighting with this stupid layout thing. It is soooooo annoying. I can't figure out how to get the photos where I want them and spacing is impossible!!!!
Anyway, When I pinned the chimney to the roof to see how it looked, I decided that it is going to need a lot of work.
Tessie popped in and then zapped Spike to the top of the chimney...Poor Spike was petrified.
I asked her what she thought she was doing and she replied, "I am measuring. The chimney has to be higher than the roof so that the sparks won't set the cottage on fire. It needs to be about as high as Spike's left ear. Make a note of that!"
To make a long story short, I made a note and Spike's left ear is an inch and three quarters above the chimney, should you ever have a need to use that measurement.
Now comes the fun part. Putting stones on the chimney and pressing the button to publish this and see what happens....I suspect that my computer will explode when I press the button.
Let's hope it doesn't happen so that I can come back tomorrow and play with it again. The learning curve is going to be interesting. I have to go look at the blogger website to see what I can find out about this new puzzle.
See you tomorrow if no explosions occur.

Your chimney is very interesting, I really like it.
I don't care for the new blogger setup, I tried it a while ago and was very happy to find a button that said 'return to old setup' no more buton. I found the old way much easier and more user friendly.
I've never been able to get my pics. in the right places! They all fetch up at the top and I have to drag them about - such a pain.
Hi Casey, I changed back to the old blogger interface under option, I don't like the changes and I'm happy with the old set up.
Mary, my only question is, how long before they dump that option altogether??? I may just do the same thing. It seems like there is more control with that one. This one does what it pleases.
Thanks Mary. I just went and changed it back. We shall see how long it lasts.
I switch back to my IPad to post, because I use Blogger plus very successfully to add pictures.
Hi Casey! I don't blog so I don't have that problem. Good luck with all the adjustments, though. It must be so frustrating. About your fireplace, it's fantastic. I love the look of it. Can't wait to see the finished product!
I was soooo upset this morning to find the new blogger set up... two posts written and I was ready to pull all my hair out..
I'm off to look for that 'return old set-up' button...
