"Please! I'd Rather Do It Myself!!!"

First of all. Yesterday, Claudia, over at Mockingbird Hill Cottage http://mockingbirdhillcottage.blogspot.com/ had a drawing for a book that she reviewed on the last day of August. I thought it sounded interesting, so I entered and lo and behold, she drew my name. The book is "Hot House Flower" by Margot Berwin. Thank You, Claudia, I will let you know how I like it!

Last night I drew up plans for the end pieces of the shelves to go in the workroom. They aren't terribly complicated, but time consuming.....

I used the mat board pattern that Zar was messing with yesterday. Each end is going to take a lot of odd angle cutting, so I plan to be at it a while. Tessie came bouncing in and announced that she wanted three of them, "I want two for the side wall and one for the back wall."

I pretty much ignored her and went on about my business. I made the mistake of mumbling that she was going to be lucky to have one.....
She enlisted Zar's help. He grabbed a saw.

I noticed that it was one that was in the printer's case hanging on the wall.

It is one that my father's friend Kelly made for me. It is all hand done. The blade is copper and the handle is oak. I will be surprised if Zar can even cut butter with it, but he is trying. So far(in the first half hour) he has made one cut through a 1/8" by 1/16"piece of walnut. As I said....This is going to take a while.

He didn't like it when I took over and cut all of the pieces for one side in about 10 minutes. Now....Can you guess who said the words in the above title?

Enter, Tessie. Yup. She grabbed the saw and said that to both of us. We had to subdue her, before she cut her arm off at the elbow.

I confiscated all of the tools, glue and wood. I repeated the phrase that Tessie had used and shooed them out. I gave them both the task of cleaning out the workroom, so that I would be able to install the shelves later. That should keep them busy for a while.

I have to go now. I need to work fast while they are still otherwise occupied.

See you tomorrow....Hopefully, with at least one workroom shelf.
