Cat Sitting Today...

Yesterday afternoon Walter, I and Mookie took a quick trip to the vet. Mookie has been out of sorts for the past couple of days. He was eating everything in site and drinking, so we didn't think it was anything too serious. I finally made a thorough inspection and found that he had an anal gland that was swollen and sore. We won't go into the unpleasant details here. The vet took him in right away to drain it. A couple of hours later, hopped up on pain killers and antibiotics, we brought him home.

He goes completely berserk when we put a collar on him to keep him from doing things he shouldn't, so we have been watching him and leaving the collar off for now.

This morning he is still sleeping a lot and out of sorts. Tessie and I are cat sitting, so there won't be much in the way of minis today. He is sleeping under the big chair in the computer room and Tessie was watching over him.

As you know, Tessie has the attention span of a gnat and doesn't like it when someone doesn't feel well. She gets all nurse-y and wants to make them feel better.

She announced that she had the perfect cure. "This is exactly what he needs." She was rummaging through the little drawers in my desk. Yes. That one says "Caterpillar fur" on the label. She took over the drawers for storage right after I got the desk. I am afraid to open some of them. There are"Rusty nails, Eye of Neut, Spiderwort, Ant whiskers, Pond scum.....That's one of the ones that I don't especially want to open.(It leaks green oozy stuff sometimes.) Then there are "Earwigs, Bat toes, Lizard tails(She tells me that no earwigs, bats or lizards were harmed) The one that I am especially afraid to open is the on that says"Miscellaneous parts". Miscellaneous parts of what exactly??? She won't say....

After she climbed out of the drawers, she got to work in the teashop attic. She claims that the mixture on the hot plate is going to make him all better.....The week's worth of antibiotics will have nothing to do with it.

The Peruvian Monster Bunny is assisting. How can this cure go wrong? Mookie will be a new cat in no time......Or will he be turning into a vampire cat, as I speak? I can already see his fangs growing.....

So much for minis today. See you tomorrow.

Our dog, Scout, has to have her anal glands expressed every so often. It is such a quick fix, isn't it? Poor babies, it must be uncomfortable - I know the signs now.

Tessie had better watch out when Mookie wakes up! I'm sure he has some frustration and anger to vent on someone. Might as well be Tessie?

I wandered around the Dollar Tree for an hour this evening. No little "bookshelves" to be found. :( Did you buy them all?!

Hi Casey. It must be wonderful to have so much help in the house, even with cat sitting. I wonder if Tessie has a sister, who would like to move to Denmark...? :O)
