Dancing on the Ceiling....

We made a couple of decisions about the townhouse this morning. I put the hinges on the bay and positively hated it! Tessie wasn't too happy about it either. She proclaimed, "I don't want people trying to get in my house through two walls. If they want to come in, they can knock and enter. No trespassing without permission!"

That sounded reasonable to me. I took the screws out and puttied over the holes. I will wait and glue that wall in place after the kitchen and bedroom are finished. Those are the only two rooms that are involved.

Meanwhile, Tessie likes the slate on the roof so much that she has decided that the ground floor should be slate also. Amazingly, without prompting, she grabbed a mop and put the preliminary coat of the requisite Hippo Gray on so that I would be able to start cutting slate tiles and applying them.

Then to my astonishment, she announced that she would paint the ceilings. She said, "It will be much easier for me to do it with my trusty mop. You would have to lay down and stand on your head all at once to do it." I didn't argue with her.

I had visions of the contortions that I would have to go through to do it.....I forgot to paint them before I put the house together....Oops! She went to work and I walked away.

I came back later to see if she had found a stepladder somewhere. I didn't think that we had one that size....I was right. She hired a substitute. '

Maybe "hired" is not the right word. Maybe "harassed into doing it" is the phrase that would fit the situation.

Anyway, all of the ceilings are now white....Two coats.

I made Tessie promise to give Zar a reward for his services.

They are now picnicking on the living room floor. She pilfered some tacos from somewhere. I know she didn't make them. No kitchen. She scrounged up some fruit and a couple of drinks.

Zar seems happy enough....I suspect that some kind of spell was involved. After all, who would be happy carrying Tessie and a mop full of white paint around all morning? He hasn't even said anything about the white paint at his temples....

When he looks in a mirror, I think that Tessie is going to be in trouble. I am not sticking around to see what happens.

See you tomorrow.

Those two are starting to look too chummy again. Good thing Tessie probably bespelled him or I'd worry.

Thank goodness I don't need to paint anything at my new house. I think the slate will look great on the ground floor. One of these days I'll have to try those egg cartons I've saved. Yes, I am moving them! I have a big plastic bag marked "NOT TRASH" although anyone but me would think it WAS trash!

Hope you have a nice evening. Very nice of Tessie to do the ceilings for you. Wondering how long her sweetness will last...?

Kathi, I have been known to move some very strange things from one place to the next. We haven't moved that often, so when I do, I have quite a collection!
