I fear that I am going to have to drag Tessie from here kicking and screaming. She is in love with the place. She got to go outside. She doesn't at home. She got lots of new clothes. She doesn't(very often) at home. She got to eat big people food. Never at home. I have created a monster. We already knew that though, didn't we?
She did, conveniently, take a nap yesterday afternoon. She woke up about the time we walked in the door and demanded to know where we went without her.
"You've got some nerve! You left me here with the dog. Where'd you go?"
We told a tiny fib. "We went to the grocery store for cinnamon rolls." I told her. Well, we did. I just omitted the part where we went to Fashion Square, ate lunch at Johnny Rocket's, went to see Whiteout(don't bother) and walked around the mall for about an hour. It's a good thing that Tessie has no concept of time and never looks at clocks.
I felt guilty for taking advantage of her gullibility and made her a new vest and apron. That appeased her.
"Spike! Get off the phone!" I think that he has had enough. He tried to call Zar to come fetch him. Tessie calmed him down by telling him we would be home sometime today.
She is being suspiciously co-operative. I think it is because I even managed to make her a "Traveling Hat" this morning.
Did I mention that I finally found the hat straw that I have been trying to find for a couple of years now? It was at the very bottom of one of my boxes of lace. I guess it has been a while since I have cleaned out that box.
Anyway, the hat will be an incentive for Tessie to return to Tucson. I don't think that I will have much trouble getting her in the car. She loves watching the world go by. It's getting her out of the car at the other end that is worrisome now. I have the feeling that I am either going to have to get Zar to hold her whenever I leave, or sneak out when she's not looking.......Either way, I will repeat what I said before. I have created a monster.
See you at home.

The new clothes look great, Tessie. Do you think we can get a close up of the hat?
Hope you had a great trip, Casey. :-)
What beautiful clothes you are making for her! I just found your blog, and I really like reading about Tessie and all that she is doing. If you want, you are welcome to visit me at my blog. There are things happening in my doll's house :-) It is written in swedish, but I have a google translator (which sometimes makes the most peculiar translations :-))
Hope you didn't have too much trouble getting her out of the car!
I will put you on my blogg roll (?). I hope it is OK.
