Zar and I worked on the bookcase that hides the workroom this morning. It is coming along nicely. I doubled some illustration board to make it the same thickness as the walls and then built a simple bookcase. I haven't glued the bookcase to the wall just yet. It is easier to work on the trim before I do that part. As you can see from the first photo, a plain bookcase would do.
It would do for most people. Balthazar wanted something more substantial. So we got out the handy dandy miter box and started cutting. First I did crown molding to go around the top. Zar put that on while I was cutting chair rail to go down the front edge on either side. Then I used a double bead molding for the front of each shelf.
When I finish it, the back will swing into the workroom with the rest of the bookcase. The finish will go on later today or tomorrow morning.
After we got this far, I decided that I should stop working and go to Wednesday Witches. Just as I was cleaning up to go Tessie showed up. Yes. She has found her way back into the house.
Zar turned out the lights and is hiding in the workroom.

Your bookcase looks really nice. I'm going to try to make a couple of them for my little house too.
Hope Tessie hasn't cleaned out your stash too much! Is her basket full yet??
You do make some beautiful things Casey!
Luv the book case
I bet by the time you get back Tessie will certainly have her basket full to the brim!
She is a trick isn't she?
