The Way It Used To Be...

I have been wanting to go back and  read my blog from the beginning. I wanted to see what it used to be.  I want to go back to when it was fun for all. And all for fun.

The last couple of years have not been a lot of fun because of doctors and cures for what ailed me... I came through it all with flying colors. I am ready to start over and get things going in the right direction again...

I finished one of the frames for the closet shelves for Tessie's dressing room yesterday afternoon..

Zar immediately wanted to see how high to hang the rod.  When I went in the bedroom, he was making Tessie reach as high as she could in the frame.  That's where the bottom shelf will go.

I ignored the two of them. This morning I decided to start reading my blog from the beginning. I wanted to see what had changed.

It was fun back then... Not so much now.

We are going back to the beginning with Tessie in tow.  She was the one that suggested that I go back and see how it used to be.

I got as far as the first year.  I was entertained by the old entries.  I want to get back to having fun with it.

No more Gloomy Casey. It annoys Tessie.  Not to mention Zar, and not to mention ME!

The pile of Tessie's clothes is just like I left it yesterday. It is going to have to stay that way until the dressing room is finished. Please ignore the mess.

The pile of stuff in the workroom is going to be cleaned up a little bit at a time.

I am actually enjoying going back to the beginning.  I keep running into old friends in the comments. I am no longer in touch with a lot of them. I do miss that.

Some of them are still around.  I am going to see if I can find them.

I am going back and work on Tessie's dressing room now. That will probably get me into more trouble that out of trouble. Tessie is pulling on my pant leg.  She wants that Dressing Room finished in the shortest time possible... I probably won't take more than a couple of days, after I finish it, to make it look just like my workroom in the above photo.

See you tomorrow.

It's nice going back and look at better times, I also sometimes check out old blogposts of mine, end enjoy both seeing the posts and reading all the nice comments. I've been away from the blog world for many years, because all the fun had gone from it, but now the joy of both miniatures and blogging has come back. Back in the days I always enjoyed your banter with Tessie, and loved reading about her antics. Looking forward to more of that, and also to see more of all your wonderful creations!

I think you'll have more fun doing it the old way. But give yourself a break too if you don't get it exactly right and still feel gloomy now and then.

We get into emotional habits as well as behavioral ones and they make it harder to do the opposite of what we've gotten used to doing. And because they're feelings we don't always recognize it's happening. Trust me, I've had to work years to figure out when I'm sliding down a spiral and when I'm just having a bad day. And I still screw up.

And when it's a physical issue that's feeding the emotional state sometimes it's hard to get out of that rut even when physically you're 'fine'. So don't get too down on yourself. We're all glad you're feeling well again.

No matter how you write it, I still love seeing all your adventures with Zar and Tessie and I hope you'll get more enjoyment out of the blog.

Hi Casey,
It is so wonderful to hear how you are taking your life back after such an ordeal with your health. And the dfact that you still posted every single day with all that you were going through says a lot about who you are.
I was not here in the beginning, only in the last three years or so, but have often gone back to read about specific projects or How To's. I don't notice a difference in quality - I enjoy all your blog content. So just keep on posting about the ideas and inspirations that make up your days, and I'll be here through all of them!
To better health and fun filled days!
Jodi

I love Tessie's pile of clothes and I love how you want to get back to fun days. I'm afraid to look back on my blog because I don't think I had any fun days. I may be mistaken but I want to start having more fun days now. So glad your health is back and I can't wait to see your future fun filled days.
