Gardening 101 for Tessie...

When it comes to gardening, Tessie has only two questions... "When can we eat it? and "When can I ride it?".

Walmart got a new shipment of plants in this morning... I planted a Thompson Seedless Grape vine! Our next door neighbor has one that I can see from a side window.  I don't think that he does anything for it and I don't think that I have ever seen any grapes on it... Who knows?  Maybe if I water it and plant it where there is sun, six hours a day, I may get some!

Tessie thought of a new question for this one... "When can we make wine?"

I tried to explain that there were "eating grapes" and "Wine grapes".  It didn't really work.  I guess that I am just going to have to let her have some of the new grapes, if I succeed, so that she can experiment. This should be interesting... Think about it.  Tiny feet.  Big grapes?  It would be like me trying to stomp on a watermelon to make wine...

I pulled out the Chinese dragon yesterday.  A am going to have a go at painting it.  Then I am going to give it a heavy protective coat, so that it won't look like this next year after the rainy season.  The poor thing is fine, but his paint job is not doing to well.

And Tessie?  You guessed it.  She sits on top and about every five minutes, she asks, "When will he be ride-able again?"

She is just going to have to wait.
I can't seem to win today.  She then went and inspected the new squash.

She heard me say that when they get about as big as my head, they will be ready to eat...

She yelled at me from across the yard, "This one's ready!  It's as big as  my head!"

Then I went into the long explanation about, "Not as big as your head Tessie!  As big as mine!"

You should have heard the wailing and carrying on about the unfairness of it all... Oh well.  She is just going to have to wait.

I saved some seeds from the green peppers that I put in the tamales, Wednesday.  Maybe we will have some of those too.  Sooner or later.  I will probably have to wait to plant those after winter comes and goes.

I am going back in the workroom and do some more cleaning out now.  I am actually seeing a difference!  It's amazing.  I know where about half of the stuff is now.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.

Hello Casey,
You have some great plants and I can't wait to see the dragon painted. I can't fault Tessie for being inpatient...I am the same.
Big hug
