Magic Carpets...

I hate the way that the boarder of this rug is turning out.  Sometimes I start at the corners and sometimes I start at the center... I started at the center of each side this time... I should have started in the corner with this pattern. It just didn't come out right in the corner.  So... I either have to tear out all of the stitches or start over...

But there is always Tessie standing by with an answer...

She suggested that I just simply finish one of the many rugs that I have in progress...

I guess I might just have to do that.  I don't want to spend the rest of the day ripping out stitches.  And it would take at least the rest of the day to do that...

I kind of like this one... but I don't know where the pattern is.

I may have to finish the three lines of boarders and make something up to go in the center.

The colors would work in the conservatory.
Of course Tessie is not always helpful.  She has found at least ten rugs that she wants finished.  She has a place for each of them in her houses and businesses... I think that she has too many houses and businesses.
The last straw was finding her in the drawer with all of the unused fabric...

Her only comment was, "WOW!  I could have rugs for every day of the year in every house if you would just get stitching and use up the rest of this fabric. Get to work, Casey!"

OK... If I want to finish by the time I am 240 years old, I had better get started NOW!

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. It's too bad your rug didn't work out. But on the bright side, the partially
finished one is very nice. I'm as bad as you, I love to start new things but most
of them never get finished.
I remember how I used to enjoy needlepoint. I should try it again.

Hello Casey,
What a shame you border did not work out as you had hoped...but the other rug , the one for which you don't have the pattern, is just stunning. Good luck with all those carpets.
Big hug

Phyllisa, do you do cross stitch? That does better for mini rugs. Your design comes out looking more real. With needlepoint some elements come out looking like stripes instead of small checks that you wanted.

Thanks Giac. I am now working on that one.

I do the same thing, with starting a project and putting it aside. I call it, crafting with ADD. I do try to eventually circle around and finish a project, like you're doing.

Barb, I have a continuous case of ADD. I do it with everything I work on.
