Ugly and Unfinished...

I do not like the rug! Very seldom do I quit altogether and throw something away, but it is probably going to happen with this rug...

There doesn't seem to be any way to control where the colors will go and when they will change.

It looks worse in real life than it does in this photo... I feel like I am wasting my time.  I might finish it as a door mat, but it will never be a rug.

I am back to workroom cleaning again.  I found the bag of rocks that Gayle brought me from Maine... I finished turning one into a pendant.  I really like working with polished stones.

Some of these are too big, but most can be used that way.
Thanks again, Gayle!
While I clean, Tessie has a resting and reclining room put together on one of the spaces that were empty on the bookcase.

She looks like she is reading a Miniature Collector and eating cookies... She's not.  I heard her snoring...

I woke her up and kicked her out...
The only problem is, Kota has his sewing chair sitting right in the center of the room. It's a strategic location.  Each time I go by, he gets petted.

It seems that he took pity on Tessie and now I am having to work around both, a snoring witch and a snoring cat... Yes he snores too.

I am going back in there now and kick them both out.  I need to get this room finished!!!

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. I agree on the rug. The colors are too random. It would make a good doormat.
The design is good though. Just change the colors next time and keep the colors
uniform.
I've had a "fail" of sorts too. I now have the oven-bake clay, but I can't seem
to settle down to work on the doll. There are too many "must-dos" right now. I try
to keep doll playing as a leisure pursuit but it doesn't always work. I didn't put
the clay "away" with the other clay I have. It is out in plain sight where I walk
by all day, so I'm not too likely to forget about it. Hopefully, I can reduce my
"must-dos" today and start on a doll tonight or tomorrow.

Hi Casey. Me again. I just recalled that I once read that it helps to keep your
ongoing or new projects to start in plain sight. That way we are constantly
reminded about them and more likely to finish or start them. So keep that half-
finished afghan over your family room chair (remove the needles), set the dollhouse
you are redecorating on the coffee table, prop your unfinished watercolor painting
on the dining room table, and so forth. And enjoy them now. If you use them as part
of your decorating design, they will look as they belong there. And everyone that
comes to your house can see how you are spending your time. And they may even ask
you to show them how to do that.

Phyllisa, I have so many projects in plain sight that my whole house looks like one big workshop!LOLm

Phyllisa, as for the rug, the problem is with the thread. The color change is to irregular to control. I have done the same rug with over dyed thread and it came out fine. Over dyed is a more regulated way of placing the dye on the thread. Oh well. This will make fine baskets and afghans.

Hello !! So glad you could make use of the rocks, that really looks nice. Miss you and I'm so happy to have seen you in Feb. Glad to read that the radiation is over and you can get back to normal. Gayle PS I like the rug but I see what you mean, dyeing to get the colors in the right places is anything but random.

I'll be the odd one out....I kinda like the rug. It's a bit retro. Kinda like something I'd see at my granny's and is just missing a lazyboy recliner on top of it!

Gayle, have you done any wire wrapping on any of your polished rocks? If you have, I would love to see them!

Kitty, grandma would not like this one in person. The colors are in such odd blobs. It just doesn't work!

Esa alfombra la puedes usar para limpiar los pies cuando entres del jardín a casa. Aprovecha el trabajo hecho.

anisnofla, good idea, I will use it by one of the greenhouses. Or maybe in front of Daisy's observatory.
