Wickering Away...

Here we go... I love it when a plan comes together...

I decided to throw everything in but the kitchen sink.

A place to put your drink and your right elbow.

A place to put your books, magazines, sketchpads and pencils on the left.
And a place to hide and use them all!

I used the fabric that matches the fabric in Tessie's potion making room.  She was always complaining about the seating in that room.  Now I have to make a matching footstool.

The outside, back panel is flat. The inside, front is tufted.  Hard to see in the photos.

As soon as I sandwiched the wires between the front and back, and as soon as the glue dried I started weaving with over hand loops around the edge.  Again with the arrow head stitch.

As I wove, I curved the wires.

When I finish Tessie will have a perfect place to hide.

Except from curious frogs... Luckily, she doesn't mind his company.  As long as he doesn't eat her cookies or drink her bug beer... She does have to keep the bug beer covered... You know.  Bugs and frogs...

She managed to knock him off with her elbow.

She says it was an accident... I kind of doubt it.

Anyway, I have to go now and get her out of her favorite chair, so that I can finish it.

I don't think that it will be a problem.  She sits on my shoulder half of the time asking, "Is it finished yet?" Or "How much longer? I need it now!"

Going back to work on her townhouse has renewed her interest in my work... Big mistake!

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey
I am loving this chair.
Do you think you could do a tutorial on it, I would love to give it a go
Cheers from Australia

Wilma, that would be almost impossible. I am making it up as I go along. Not counting anything. I'm just doing it by feel.

I love this!! I would love to try some wicker at some point but, even with your clear instructions on an earlier tutorial, it still looks a little too daunting for me. I'm so envious of your talent! - Marilyn D., Oromocto, NB,Canada

I think the only way is to read all the wicker posts in the blog, to figure out the basic techniques, then study the photos very carefully.

It's a great design, Casey, I really wish they made them like this in our size!

Hello Casey,
Your wicker furniture is always so beautiful. The fabric is amazing! I can't wait to see it all finished.
