Kind of Minis and Baskets...

OK... So I got stuck in the garden for a while...

This photo is "Find the first tomato".   It is about the size of the end of my little finger, but it IS a tomato...
I am trying Fresias for the first time... I can't honestly say that I grew them. They were buds when I bought the plant.  I love the color and they smell really good.
I am turning the fairy garden into an herb garden.  I planted thyme to the right of the house this morning.  I had dill behind the house, but I didn't think to save the seeds, so I have to go get some new ones.  The lavender is doing great.

I am not sure about planting basil in here.  The leaves are pretty big for the little house...  The little house may just have to find a new place to live.

OK... So I am not mini-ing today.  I found the stoneware piece that I have been looking for.  For a while I had it as the bottom of a macramé planter. The macramé started getting water soaked so I took it apart.

I saw this idea on Pinterest, using a shallow stoneware bowl for the bottom half of a basket.  I decided to try it with the Russian magazine basket as an upper.
If I  pull up the ends and keep them under the first few rounds of weaving, that should hold it together.

We shall see.  I think that it will work.

I am going to go play with it some more while the pizza cooks.

I have radiation at 3:40.  Then I get four days off for good behavior... Don't laugh!  I can behave if I have to. But they were concerned with the redness.  Nothing hurts.  It's just red.

Look at it this way.  I will be able to do minis for four days, without interruption

Then Monday thru Thursday next week and I will be finished!!!  No more red rash! Yay!

Back to the basket.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey-You weave at the speed of sound with every project that you tackle, so I think that your basket will be completed by tomorrow:D

And wishing you all the Best regarding your forthcoming medical treatment too :)

Elizabeth, this time you are wrong. I tried, but it didn't work. The holes were too close together. If I used every other one, they were too far apart. I'm going to try another idea...coiled basket comes to mind

Casey, do you mean that your treatments will end after next week?

Hi. Casey love the colour of your Fresia's. I love them I have a 1/2 barrel full of them. They are mostly yellow and white and the perfume is to die for,and they just keep coming back every Spring. My tomatoes are just finished they were the best I have had this year. Of course I live in that upside down World we call Australia so we are in Autumn now haha All the best for your upcoming treatment and enjoy your 4 days off

Lucille, the radiation will be over next Thursday. I will still have a Herceptin treatment every three weeks until June. Then I will be completely done!

Wilma, I have never seen Fresias here before. I am not sure if they will stand the heat, but I'm going to try. These don't have a very strong smell. Maybe it has something to do with the color. Thanks for telling me that they will come back. I didn't know that.

Casey. I have them in full sun with temps. getting into the high 30C low 40C so they would be okay in Arizona. :)

Pps. If you leave them in the pot they will also multiple. When they are finished we just leave them to rot back a bit like daffodils. I started off with half a dozen bulbs and now my half wine barrel is full
Cheers
