That is the question...
I am thinking that the library is the only way that the Observatory will not look crowded.
If I do it, that means a LOT more work.
If I don't, it's a one person building. Period.
I didn't measure, but the telescope actually turned out about the right height.
The end of the telescope is actually a hubcap from the Dollar Tree and a brass rivet.
This gives you some idea of how much space there will be in the main room...Not a lot.
If there is a chair or stool in there, there will be no space at all.
I still have a few things to attach to the telescope.
As you can see, if I do the add on... I will have to piece the ceiling tile. I am down to a few scraps.
A friend went to hunt for ceiling tile at Lowe's and Home Depot and claimed that she couldn't buy a single sheet. I am going to have to investigate. I have been buying it that way for about 25 years. I certainly hope that it isn't so! I will be in big trouble. I use a lot, but a single sheet goes a long way in miniatures. A whole box would be costly!
If it is so, I may have to look for another kind of material that will suit the purpose. Foam of any kind won't work. It needs to be solid. No plywood. Too hard to cut and too heavy.
Anyway, that's as far as I have gotten today...
See you tomorrow.
