Progress...

I took along Daisy's hanging chair to the meeting yesterday.  I actually made some progress.

I am up to the opening in the front of the chair and a few lines of weaving above...

I decided to do some of this every day and work on other things for Daisy's house at the same time.  That is a defense mechanism against boredom...
This morning's three o'clock idea was for more storage in Daisy's bedroom.  There are no straight walls up there.

The solution?  Since she is a world traveler, I thought that a Japanese Tansu chest would work well.

A tansu is used like stairs in old Japanese homes. It served a dual purpose.  storage and stairs in one piece of furniture.  Here, it will just be for storage.

First I cut a piece of graph paper in the required size.  Tessie stuck it against the wall and Spike approved...

It is a staircase to nowhere in this instance.  I just needed a shape that would fit in the area.

Here's a finished drawing of what I plan to do.  It is, as always, subject to change as I build, the it is a good starting point.

Daisy lives out of a suitcase when traveling.  I am not sure how that works in time travel, but I don't think that she can take a lot of stuff with her.

At least this will give her a place to put things.

I have to move it away from the door.  I didn't want to cover up all of the pargeting around the door.

Anyway, That's the latest.

I haven't heard from Daisy.  I am sure that I will if she doesn't like the idea.  She always seems to know what is happening here.  I think that she pops in and out when it is convenient and the house is unoccupied.

I have to go hunt down some wood to make the tansu now.  Maybe walnut?  I'm not sure what I have in the drawer... Decisions, decisions, decisions.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. That storage piece is
a great idea! I really like the basket chairs. Is that yarn you are using for the latest chair?

Hi Phyllisa,
It is crochet cotton that comes in skeins. I wax it as I go.

Hello Casey,
You are such an incredible force of creativity. I cannot wait to see the chest take form.
