Hanging in There...

OK. I still have to put the chain on and make the cushions for inside, but the wicker is finished.

Keep in mind, this is the trial run.  the next one will be better, because I will(maybe) have a better idea of what I am doing... Hopefully...
I am liking the swirls at the top and will be thinking about them all the way through the chair next time.

I don't think that I will go to the work of putting the slits in the bottom.  Maybe more open work here and there instead.
Meanwhile, Tessie is thrilled that she got the first one... Don't tell her that the second one may be better.  She will want one for every structure that she owns... As it is, she already wants one in each outdoor area that will hold one.
At least this will keep her happy for a while.  She yells at me every once in a while, when she thinks of a new spot to hang it from.  I go move it, as directed.  Hey!  It keeps her out of my hair.

Wait until I get the real chain and hook on it.  She will be able to hang around in any spot that she so desires.  And she will be able to zap it herself.

As it stands, with just a string holding it, I have to use both hands to hang it.  I can't zap.

These are going to be like Lay's Potato Chips.... I can't make just one... There are several dancing around in my little six year old brain at present...

Gotta go make another one.

See you tomorrow.

It is adorable! I love those hanging chairs and test every one that I come across in different shops. One thing I always want extra: a little lipped edge ledge that can keep a book secure and a little cup holder, so I don't have to get up and out of the chair every 10 minutes. Can you make a real life-sized for me too, please?

Lené, you sound just like my daughter. She always wants me to make her real life sized furniture.

Good ideas. I have done floor standing wicker in mini with built in magazine racks. I may have to try some built ins on the next chair.

Hi Casey,
I can't believe this is trial run. The chair looks marvellous and so comfortable too. Tessie is a lucky little lady and doesn't even know it.....:)
All the best
Vivian
