Lost and Found...

OK.... I cleaned out this bookcase yesterday afternoon...  Bad Move...

I found the two boxes of quarter inch furniture and architectural elements...

Then I went and found not one, but two notebooks full of 1/4" paper, articles  and sketches... The notebook with the sketches was a surprise.

I hadn't looked at it for a long time.
I dragged all of it into the bedroom and started adding stuff to the quarter inch Tudor.

To my surprise, I had a lot more items for the Tudor than I remembered.

There was something for nearly every room.

Tessie immediately shrunk down a couple of sizes and started wandering around in there.(See second room on the second floor, green...)
I sat down this morning to look at the notebooks.  One is just filled with all quarter inch wallpaper and flooring... I knew what was in that one.
It was the second one that was a very large surprise.

The first thing in the book was pages and pages of my sketches for 1/4" mini furniture and accessories.

There was a lot of Brodenax paper and all of Madelyn Cook's articles from Nutshell News, on quarter inch.  The Wednesday Witches mini group went to her house when she still lived here in Tucson.  It was amazing.

The Mini Time Machine just had a show of her work last month.  That was almost as amazing...

OK.  I told you that cleaning could be dangerous...Now I want to work on the Tudor.

I am thinking of making a new rule.  It's my workroom and I can do what I want(says the six year old, with fists on hips and about to start stomping her feet).

The new rule is, I can go back and work on things that aren't finished for a day or two.... Or maybe even three.  No new projects.  Only old ones that haven't been finished.

But first, I have to go make a new sign for the door... It will say, "My workroom!  My rules!".

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. I agree. It's Your Workroom. Should be Your Rules.

I love when I come across items I have forgotten. It must be human nature that makes us embrace it
and immediately set everything else aside so we can reacquaint yourselves with our found objects.
Have fun with your quarter inch scale house.

Congrats on your new rule! I started doing this about two months ago. No new projects, only unfinished ones. In addition, no new craft supplies unless it's absolutely necessary for the project I am currently working on and that's only after I give great thought to what I already have that I can use instead. Make do or do without if you will. I have found myself using up more of my craft hoard this way and can't remember when I went to the craft store last. I have also found myself letting go of projects that I know I'm just never going to do. I have a sewing box full of mini kits and half completed projects that I take to my craft club to work on. This has been a great experience, very satisfying to see things getting completed, used up or let go of!

This rule may not hold for long... I have Steampunk waiting.

I have always gon by the old Pennsylvania Dutch slogan though. "Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do or do without.". That one works very well for me... However, I think that's why I keep having to clean the workroom... I save way too much stuff to recycle.

Hi Casey. I love your 1/4 inch tudor. I don't blame you for wanting to work on that for a bit, especially after finding the 1/4 inch furniture. Who could resist having a play. I love the Pennsylvania Dutch slogan. I've never heard that one before.

Casey, with all the stuff you have, I'm not surprised that you would forget some of it. It was a nice find!
