Another Steampunk Source...

Last week, I stopped at a garage sale and one of the things in a grab bag that I bought was the workings of a music box... No box.

When I got it home, I went to take it apart and I couldn't find my Phillips screwdriver.  I found it this morning... In Daisy's cottage... I have a feeling that she has been dropping in at night to see how things are coming along... and they are not to her liking...

I couldn't find the chest and shelf from the kitchen.  I went into the workroom to take apart the music box and found the furniture.

I ignored it and took apart the music box.  Two screws were holding it together.  The rest was held together by riveting the soft metal of the case.  I had to pry it apart.  As you can see, it had a lot of interesting parts.  More Steampunkery stuff!

I am going to have to keep an eye out for music boxes.

As for the chest and shelf...I discovered that the edges of panels and drawers had been painted black.

It was dry, so Daisy must have worked into the night and then left quietly... I took the hint...
I started fooling around with a gold pen.  This is on the side that faces away from the opening of the kitchen.  I can fool around all I want.  It will never be seen, after I install it.

This is just a start.  It needs more color to look Moroccan, but I think it is going to work.

I did notice that I missed the top edge of the chest.  There should be another line of black on the top under edge.

Anyway Daisy, if you are reading this, I am back to work on the cottage and will keep going as fast as I can... I want to get to the Steampunkery again.

I might even drag down the Clockwork Cottage and finish it.  Poor Zar has been living in the immobile mobile home for much to long...

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. Nice doodling on the chest and shelf. And just where does Daisy drop in from?

Phyllisa, I never know where she is at any given moment. Remember? She is both a traveler of time and space. If she and Dr. Who ever get together, the results could be disastrous. They could probably rule the known universe...

Hey Casey
That Daisy is a crafty one ;-)
I love the details you did with the gold pen. It looks so pretty and a little bit Scandinavian? Or is it just me??
GOod luck with the music box parts…

Hello Casey,
I love the gold detail you added. It looks perfect with the base color and black detail. Keep up the good work, I'm sure Daisy will love it.
Big hug,
