Trying to Decide....

First of all, we have goldfinches!(Actually, it's an Oriole. Thanks for telling me, Trish!  He was included in the images of goldfinches on MSN.)  This guy and a couple of others have been visiting the back yard for a couple of weeks now.  Would you believe that they think that they are hummingbirds?

That is the only conclusion that I can draw.  They keep raiding the hummingbird feeder outside the kitchen window.

The poor humming birds have to wait in line.  The goldfinches, sparrows, wrens and woodpeckers all think that they are hummingbirds!  I have to fill the feeder about every other day now.

The woodpeckers are the  most fun to watch.  It's hard to get a photo, but they hang on the edge with their bodies under the feeder and their head curved around to the top... Real acrobats.

Now onto the more important stuff.

I worked on the screens and the bathroom wall this morning.

This is going to be a small bathroom.  Hardly room for a pit bull and a jaguar in it.

That door is going to be interesting to put together.

I painted the screens a little darker shade of beige and rubbed off most of the paint on the brass fittings.

Now I am trying to decide if I like them or not in the darker shade.  I think I do...

I am going to let them sit a bit and then decide.  I don't think that I want them the same shade as the walls.  I want them to stand out a bit.

I am going to town and meditate while thrift and dollar store shopping... That will help me decide... Honest... It will.

See you tomorrow.

Hello Casey,
Great pictures. I like the darker color. I think if it matches the walls some of the detail will be lost.
Big hug,
Giac

I also prefer a darker colour for the screens! It's nice to have a contrasting colour in a room!

I believe you have Orioles. They love sweets. Orange and grape jelly are a favorite of theirs, along with fresh oranges.
The darker beige does make the screens stand out more. I like it.

Trish, I think that you are right. When I looked for the birds, there were oriole photos mixed in with the goldfinches. I just assumed.... Oops!

It must be wonderful to watch the bird life in your garden.
