What's Wrong With This Picture???

I was all ready to finish the stones on Daisy's Cottage this morning.  I grabbed the package of Model Air and opened it... It would have been nice if I had looked at the package beforehand... I didn't realize that I had picked up terra cotta instead of white.  Already opened and I don't know where the receipt is.  Rats!
I decided to make the best of things and do something else.  I knew that I wasn't going to use the porch posts as they were, so I started changing those around...

This is what they are supposed to look like... They are one of the puzzles that is this house.  You really have to fight to get them into place.  I didn't want to put them in place until I was further along on the house.  Once you have the second floor on, it is next to impossible to get them in place.

Tessie and Monte kept interrupting the work.  Monte kept slithering up onto the porch and I bribed Tessie with a couple of Oreos to keep him at bay...Every ten minutes or so.
I cut out the center posts on the porch.  Tessie took Monte away again... This time she needed Spike as backup.

I plan to cover the posts with rock work also... Never ending rock work...
I put up a couple of pieces of blue tape to see what it would look like with arches.  It will kind of match the style of the windows, when I am finished.

It is getting harder.  Now Monte is trying his best to be a python...  He just isn't a squeezer. Tessie took him away further this time.  All the way to the Tudor Trailer, where he is supposed to live.

He was back faster than she was.  That snake can really move when he wants to.

I gave up and let him have the porch. I think that he is afraid that I will close his entrance under the bay...
I left them to argue about whom was going to live where... I told you so.  Tessie is trying to tell Monte that this is her place....Not happening, Tessie.  Daisy will be back as soon as it is finished...Which may be never, the way things are progressing....

Are you wondering what happened with the buttonhole rugs?  I started another one and absolutely hated the color combination.  Brown purple and turquoise?  What was I thinking when I purchased that thread?  One thing lead to another... I made the mistake of taking out some of the baskets....Loopy, remember.  I discovered that there are more than I wish to count... I may have to finish a few of them, in self defense.... They are taking over the world...

Maybe I will go loop some baskets now.  Yes.  They can also be looped!

See you tomorrow.

that's going to look very nice when you get the right type of clay

Oh dear, the clay is a serious hiccup. Would it be possible to use the terracotta clay and just paint it a grayish white to match the other clay? You are going to paint it all in the end, right? If it works on a small section, you can go ahead and not stress about buying more clay (until Tessie demands a castle all to herself!)

I think that I will wait. The painted terra cotta will not take washes the same as the unpainted white. It will keep, I can use it elsewhere.

The terra cotta might be great for floors and bricking. Spanish tile.

I found DAS at Hobby Lobby yesterday. The chimney I need to make will be my first adventure with it. So I'll be referencing the cottage here quite a bit!

Can I tell you a secret?...I did the same thing 2 weeks ago. The terra cotta clay is not quite the same. But it will do for a rainy day project! Hopefully you will have luck finding more of the white clay, my local store ran out and I had to go for a drive to the next store to find some.
