Over One Million Served!

 Remember when that was a big thing on the McDonald's signs?  I am not sure how many they have on there now, or if they are even still keeping track.

This morning, I went to write the blog and when I hit the Blogger Dashboard site, there was, by their count, 1,000,177 all time hits on my blog!  Color me happy!  Thanks to all of you that come and read everyday!

Maybe some of the hits were people that wandered in by mistake, but blogger counts them all and so do I.

I used to have one of those counters on my blog that showed the numbers, but I lost it three different times and had to start over...So I decided to let blogger do the counting.

 

OK.  Let's get serious now.  The staircase is going to work!!!  That also makes me happy.  It doesn't take much.  I cut out a couple of pieces of ceiling tile this morning.  That will form the base and hold the tree upright. 

Zar is standing where the staircase will start.  Tessie is at the finish.

It will curve around the outside of the trunk in a spiral.

Where he is standing will be the first step.  I marked the trunk all around for the 10 steps that it will take.

I am going to try to use small branches in drilled holes to hold up the steps.  if that doesn't work, I will fake it and make it look like branches are holding it up....One way or the other.  I am determined!

I cut a small piece of  scrap 1/8" luan for the top platform trial.  It will have to be braced somehow, but we will figure that out as we go.


Unfortunately, I will have to finish the stonework on the porch before I can do the staircase, but that shouldn't take long.

I will also have to have the house in place and glued to the board before I start the stairs. 

Lots to keep me busy...I had better go start messing with stones.
