A Little Privacy Please!!!

OK...The Terrible Two went on strike this morning.  They refused to do any more work until I got them some clean clothes to wear.

Of course, they couldn't be in the same area at the same time, so I had to do the stages one person at a time...

First, they both wanted my assurance that their faces wouldn't be shown whilst they were undressed...So...

I started with Zar.  It is so much fun to hear Tessie having a hissy fit while Zar is getting his turn first.  How dare he???

He is basically taken apart.  His skeleton is replaced with a new one. Chenille stems. Then it is wrapped in about three layers of low loft batting.  Then he is sculpted from there.

The batting is glued on, so it's not going anywhere.  For example, his backside has to look like a backside, so I cut a graduated V at the bottom of his spine....It is hard to describe the process without offending him or any of his friends.

This is the front side.  I will do some tapering where the leg meets the body and at the knees. Then he will be ready for new clothes, from the skin out.

I tried to talk him into red long johns, but he wouldn't go for it.

He insisted on his boring pants, shirt and vest...

He needed a break after being torn limb from limb and reassembled.

So I kicked him out and let Tessie in.  She insisted on the same rules.  No photos of the face please!

With her, it's a bit more complicated.  She gets all of the rolls of  batting, over a new skeleton.  But she also gets a couple of extras, here and there.

First she gets an extra layer of padding to sit on.
Then she gets a new bust line.  It starts as a single piece and then is tied in the center area for separation.
Next she gets the same pad in back, but it is left whole.

Both of these areas are glued on with Alene's Fast Grab.

I will taper the knee area.  I do that by starting with the outer layer and tapering towards the knee.

As you can see, I still have to do some more tapering to the bottom of the body roll and the knee.

In this photo, you can see that she now has a waste.  The is floral tape.  I use it to wrap the ends of her bones, where the arms and legs are attached.  Also the shoulder/neck and head area.

I have to get back to it.  The Terrible Two are not good at waiting... If I leave them too long, they will start trying to dress themselves.  It has happened a couple of times and let me tell you, neither one of them can sew, worth a hoot!

That's all for the peep show.  Back to the dressing room.

See you tomorrow.

Good to see they have padding in all the right places. I look forward to seeing them in their new clothes.
