Yesterday morning, I knocked my old camera off of the desk in my workroom. Oops! Walter has been trying to talk me into a new one...Now I have one.
I got a Canon ELPH 115 IS. It shall forever be known as the Elf...Much easier to say.
I had to try it out this morning. Since I am not crazy about flash photos, I took all of these without. Not bad.
The first one is the observatory in the 1/4" Tudor wall house. Just look at all of those stars!
Next I set up a few pieces in the living room of the same house. Not too shabby.
I caught Mic Jaguar strolling around on the couch of the townhouse. I think he is trying to make a nest to sleep...There is a pillow missing....Lunch, maybe?
I forgot to show you the pendant watch that I made the other day....All the better to show you the new camera. I turned the photo lengthwise, but it flipped back when I put it in picasa for some reason...I am not in the mood to fight the problem.
Tessie volunteered to try showing it the right way....If I would let her wear it. She is going to have to move Oscar. He has been riding around on her shoulder since Christmas. I think that she is feeding him cookies to keep him there....Do frogs like cookies?
So far, I like the camera, but....There seems to be a hairline running through all of the photos in the same spot. I am wondering if I got one with a cracked lens somewhere inside? I am going to have to have Walter take a look at it when he gets back from golf. You can see it running from top to bottom on the photo with Mic. It is almost even with the far edge of the couch. I cropped it out of the other ones.
Until he gets home, I am going to play with my new toy some more.
See you tomorrow.

Well done on your new camera! I had to get a new one just a few days ago as my old one broke while taking pictures for my blog tutorial. I do hate the flash too and I have to say, the pictures came out great even without the flash. Well done and have a great New Year!
New camera Good! Hair line thingy Bad. Hope this gets resolved so we can enjoy more pretty pictures of all the wonderful stuff you seem to effortlessly whip up every day....
Hugs

Great photos and they will only get better as you get to know your new camera more. I hope Walter can sort the line for you. The watch pendant is great.
Oh, those are wonderful. I just got into miniatures in the last five months and started making many of my own. Definitely a challenge and such a fun thing to take up as a hobby. That's fabulous on your new camera. I'm needing one myself... I would love to have one. Sad about the hairline crack running through the photos. I saw it in the one. I hope you can figure out what it is and how to fix it. Blessings, Bird

I can see the hairline you mention but I would not have noticed had you not mentioned it. I love your watch creation, it's different, unique!
Hi, Glad your faulty camera was replaced without any fuss. I can see how the upholstery is a better tone than the tomato red.... more Victorian now I think. I was admiring the clothing on the dolls wondering what it was. The number of fabric stores in Vancouver has decreases so it is not always easy to find small scale trim etc.
It has been fun to see all the variety of things you have created.
All the best for 2014.
regards Janine
