Guess Where I Am?

No.  This is not a Where's Waldo type of quiz.

I am not in the middle of this mess, in hiding.  I am in the midst of putting all of this stuff away....Again...You would think that I would learn to clean up as I go, after a while...

Nope.

I pretty much have it down to what you see there...Not counting the jewelry findings that need sorting.

So I decided I needed a break.  I saw a small pad of  graph paper on my desk...

Off on another tangent.

Bookbinding.  At least it is a style that I haven't tried before.

I just used fancy card stock and sticky gold paper to do the binding.  That part is cheating.

What I really wanted to try was sewing the paper together like a real book.

I did it. It's not perfect, but not too bad for a first try.

I made five stacks of pages. and sewed them together down the center.

I will not go into details.  I am not fit to teach this. Not yet anyway.

You could do this in mini and some people do....I won't be doing it.  I admire the patience of the people that do.
As practice, I just used a couple of strands of embroidery thread.

The whole thing took me less than an hour....Now that I know that I can do it, I am happy.  I can continue cleaning the Black hole that is my workroom.

Back to real work.

See you tomorrow.

Marisa, I don't. All of the stuff wanders around and settles here and there on its own. I have very unruly stuff! LOL

I love bookbinding and used to do it for a while but ended up with a lot of blank books. I've started using them now so I might go back to making some more. I do enjoy the creativity of book making.

Fun cleaning... I'm just like you. I say I'll keep up n put things away, but never do. I must be forced. Yet i can go to someone else's house n clean down to the tiniest detail no problem..go figure.

I love the book. I especially like the tab to open close it. Funny i just made a mini book to test out exactly what u wanted about a month ago. 1" tall x 1 1/2" wide x 1/2" thick. Used small graph paper also. (5 across 6 down) the inside i have about 6/7 lil booklets i sewed separately with clear jewelry string that has a tiny bit of stretch. Then sewed them all together in the ends. That was the hardest getting it all together. N cardboard cover with paper in n out. I wanna go smaller but mine was to see if i could n pretty proud. I think you should at least try a scale one. Since everything you do comes out amazing! I'm def gonna try to do a tiny one with your flap. Maybe really thin leather. :)
Go for it!
