So Much For Flowers....

I was putting the new flowers in the green house when I realized that I do use a lot of them.

Nearly every scene that I do has some kind of plant or flower arrangement in it.

Tessie was a lot of help in getting the place filled up again...

She wanted me to be sure to get a photo of her prized English work boots....I don't believe that she has ever had them on...Just the fact that she owns a pair is enough.

Anyway, the greenhouse is restocked and all's right with the world.
Just because you don't have terracotta pots to put your plants in is no excuse.

Here are three.  The smaller terracotta, round pot is a bead and so is the large blue one.

The cylindrical one is a cap of some kind that I painted to look like a Native American pot.  I did it with pens...It is now faded a bit, but I still like it.

If you don't have punches, you can still make snake plant like the one that Tessie has her hand on.  It is simply card stock cut in slivers anywhere from 1/2 to 1" long and about a 1/4 to 1/8" wide.  I cut them out and then colored them green and yellow with Prismacolor pencils. Then you simply curl each leaf a bit and stuff it in the pot.

The one in the small terracotta pot is simply a small scrap booking heart shaped punch for the leaves and a tiny flower shaped punch for the flowers. The one in the blue bowl is a scrap booking leaf punch.

In other words, you don't have to have the fancy ones that I showed you yesterday.  Just examine the ones that they sell for scrap booking.  A lot of them can be adapted for minis.

This last photo shows cacti made from seed pods in a terracotta pot.  That's the only untouched commercial piece in the whole bunch.  The rust and white one in the foreground is a blank that I found at a mini show, cheap.  I used a rust colored permanent pen to draw the design on that one.

The plates hanging on the wall are all blanks that I copied Native American designs on, with a fine tipped black pen.

It just goes to show you that you don't have to spend a lot to complete a scene with pottery.

The annual Tucson mini show and sale is on the 19th and 20th.  I am going to have to go this year.  I need to stock up on more plain old pots.  I am running low.

I think that I will go see what else needs restocking....I am notorious for robbing on scene to complete another...Basket shop...Hat shop... You name it....It probably has a hole in it somewhere.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.

How neat! I have a hanging planter that I got as a freebie and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. I think I'll go check out my Michael's and Hobby Lobby for punches and try making something now. :)
