Watching Gesso Dry...

Hey!  At least the name is more interesting than paint...The action, however, is the same.

Why didn't I do the painting part yesterday?  I could have started in with the rest of it...

The Terrible Two + One took it literally.  I wonder how long they will stay at it, before the riots break out?

Oh well.   I just wasn't in the mood for standing on my head to paint the ceiling last night.

So...I have to show you other things....Three or four photos of watching paint dry isn't a lot of fun.

Remember the wood samples from a couple of weeks ago?  Here's what I did with one of them.  This is Vermilion wood from Africa.

April saw it and wanted one.  So While the gesso dries, I may just sit down and make her one.
The three way lamps in the bedroom both stopped doing three way and started blowing out bulbs a couple of weeks ago.  I can't do much at night unless it is big stuff.  I need to go lamp shopping...But...There is a nail in my right rear tire and I am too chicken to take it into town. Walter is in charge of that department.

Last night, I watched a couple of videos on U Tube and learned to make an oval bottom for a basket.  That, I can work on in the lousy lighting.

This is as far as I got.  It's about 4X8 inches so far.

At least I can find a couple of things to keep myself entertained until the gesso is dry.

Hopefully I will have something more interesting to show you tomorrow.

See you then.

Hello Casey,
the necklace is wonderful. What a great way to use those beautiful wood samples. Have fun when the gesso is dry.
Big hug,
Giac

Gesso? Why do you use Gesso Casey I have never used it or thought about using it before!

Deni, I like it as an undercoating. If I leave some in the open, it thickens up and can be used for a light stucco. It is pure white and a good base for any color.
