Just the Beginning...

Today is the first day of keeping the workroom clean....for the rest of my life?

Well maybe for a month or two it will stay like this...or almost like this.

I rearranged furniture this morning.  I have a new, old chair.  This is the one that was in the computer room.  Pretty classy for the workroom.  It was the one in the computer room.  We had a newer one out in the garage, so it is now the computer chair and this one is mine!  The other one I had, had tipping to the right issues.  Now I won't be falling off my rocker when I work on minis.

This is what I did last night with the new fabric paints.  I am just getting started.  I just hope that the ink sets well when I am finished.

It is a heat set type of ink and those usually do pretty well.

Even if it doesn't, it is really fun to do.
Last but not least, my friend Jane sent me another knitting care package.  Look what I got yesterday.  This is the third group that she sent.  I haven't used up all of the first two packages yet...I am determined to make as many socks, scarves and hats out of this yarn as I can.  It is really nice wool sock yarn.

This is the way it comes packaged.  You simply unfasten one end and start knitting right off of the little blanket of yarn.  The hand dying in interesting.  You never know what you are going to get until you start knitting.

I have done several pairs of these and they turned out well....I think that Jane has made it her mission in life to see that I never stop knitting socks...Don't worry Jane!  You are doing a great job. Thank you so much, Jane!!!

I am going now and see what happens with one of the new yarns...

See you tomorrow.

The yarn is lovely. I just wonder how you can stand to wear wool socks in the desert. Don't you find them warm? Your atelier is perfect. It gives us such a wonderful feeling after we finish cleaning something up just before we start scattering things again, doesn't it? I think we're all the same. My dining room is a disaster area. It's a good thing I live alone. I'll have a lot of picking up later on today. It's like being on a merry-go-round!

Cases, the fabric painting is just beautiful. You may make a mess of your workroom but the things that arise from the mess are just stunning--think Phoenix rising from ashes. It's always a pleasure to read and look at your blog.

Hi Casey. I like what you have painted on the shirt. I have not
gotten started with Zentangles because I fear it would be all I would do! And I already have more projects started and planned than I will live long enough to finish. Where does your friend get the sock fabric? Sock knitting is on my list to try. I have the book "Toe-Up, 2-at-a-Time Socks" by Melissa Morgan-Oakes,which seems to me it would make the process easier.

You are doing wonders with that fabric paint! So pretty! Congrats on your comfy chair. Two of my wheels have come off mine. You have inspired to me shop for a new one.
If your workroom stays clear for over a month please give a tutorial on that! ahahaha

Grand mommy, I probably could keep it clean for a month or more, however. I might not be able to do enough minis to keep the blog going.....I have to make a choice. Clean room or fun blog....take your pick! LOL

Hi Casey: I was able to find a website for Flat Feet yarn. It is quite pricey at $25.00 to knit one pair. Here's the link:

Phyllisa, I misunderstood. These are samples from the company. Actually, 25.00 is about average for good wool sock yarn. Especially if it's hand dyed. Some of the stores here in Tucson want up to forty dollars for enough to knit one pair. That's why I am especially greatful for this yarn.
