A Widget Basket...

I had about half of the slate floor glued down...

Then an Architectural Digest magazine started calling my name...Actually it started a couple of days ago.  I had an idea for a cat basket.

Amazingly enough, it worked.  I rolled those little sticks for a couple of nights, while watching TV.  It's very relaxing. One eye on rolling sticks of paper and the other on the Korean drama subtitles.

I thought I had enough with the one AD to make a cat bed.  I did.  Just enough.  I had two sticks left over when I was done....That was only because I lost those under a pillow.
Widget seemed to know what I was doing.  He sat and watched most of the process, when he wasn't scratching his cheek on the sticks.

I had half a notion to leave them that way, but I didn't.  I figured that people would just think that I was too lazy to put an edge on the basket.

After I finished, I talked him into trying it out.

At first he wasn't too sure...
He kept looking behind himself to see if somebody was sneaking up on him....

Nope. Nobody there.
I can just see the wheels turning in his little mind..."Hmmm...If I lie down facing the door, nobody can sneak up on me....Casey won't bother me... She wants me in the basket..."

He laid there all of 2 minutes.  I am hopeful that, as soon as I get his favorite hand knitted blanket out of the dryer, he will actually stay in the basket....

If not, it will be a great place to store yarn or magazines.  We shall see....

See you tomorrow.

Such a nice basket, Casey! It certainly does not take you long to do anything when you put your mind to it. It's so nice to see Widget again. Cats are such fascinating creatures. I learn more and more about them each day since my daughter got her two kittens.

You are good--my maiden efforts weren't nearly as neat. But yeah, I'm all caught in the basket weaving frenzy.

Why is it when you have a new cat bet they are always so suspicious of it. I toss new ones into the dirty laundry to put her peoples smell on it, seems to work.
