Get Your Feet Off the Table!!!

Here is the results of yesterday's dying...That ball that Zar is sitting on will last a while....And a half.

I made the table from it last night and this morning.  Not a bad color.  I would call it a honey beige.

The table is really straight, with curved legs....Zar is just pushing too hard with his feet.  Bad Zar.

It will, of course, reside in Tessie's weaver's cottage until I sneak it away.

I thought that you might like to see some of the other colors that I have done with regular old Rit dye.

This brown one, you have probably seen many times if you have followed Tessie around.  It was her very first chair and has been in every house she has confiscated in the past.

It was done with plain old Dark Brown Rit.  It takes a while for it to get this dark, but I am definitely going to do more now that I am out.  Lots of stiring if you want the color to be consistent.
This one was done with  Rust Rit.  I purposely didn't stir it too much.  I wanted a rustic look with some unevenness in color.

This is another one that I would like to do, but I have trouble finding the Rust Rit.  I haven't really tried lately.

I used to also do dark green, but I ran out of that ages ago and I sold all of the pieces in that particular color.

Anyway, the search begins.  I will start with Walmart tomorrow and widen the search to other stores if they no longer carry the colors that I need.

One of the bottles will do several skeins of thread like I did yesterday.

That part, I don't have to buy.  I have been collecting older threads(which I prefer) from thrift shops for a long time.  Bring on the dye!  I am ready to go now.

See you tomorrow.

Beautiful table Casey - and I love the colour. I haven't been able to work those curves yet but I'm going to go back to your tutorials again and give it another try. I think it will take me a very long time to get anywhere near the same result as yours but it will take even longer if I don't try at all. :-) Thank you so much for not only all the inspiration you provide but for the wonderful instructions in your tutorials as well.- Marilyn
