Just Getting Started....

First of all, Happy Mom's Day to those of you that celebrate it today.

My title refers to Widget's latest whim....Every day we put all of his toys back in the basket and sit it up by the sewing machine....Every day he knocks it down and carries all of the toys to all corners of the house.

Every night we go hunt down all of the toys and put them back in the basket.  A couple of days ago, toys were not enough.  He had the basket down the hall and half way into the living room...He is nothing if not persistent in his quest.  Hey!  It keeps him out of the minis when I am trying to work.!

As long as I was working on Tessie's hands, I did go ahead and make some for Zar too.  They are both going nuts, running around and trying them out.  Hence the yo yo, pitcher, telescope and flask.

They are both very happy with the new digits....Or maybe it's just the flask and the pitcher.  Who knows what the contents of the two items is?  Probably bug beer and something else equally disgusting in Zar's flask.

As I said before, it keeps them out of the minis when I am trying to work....For a while anyway.
I spoke too soon...I have been cutting more half timbers from the scraps of the kit.  They didn't like the way that I stacked them after sawing...

I knew that I shouldn't provide them with opposible thumbs.  They started out stacking neatly.  Now they are "accidentally" batting each other with rafters and complaining that there are splinters...

Next step sanding and more staining.  At least, I know that they won't want to help with either of those tasks.  I expect them to disappear soon...

Just as I sat down again to finish the blog, I noticed this...

It's not a great photo, but....Zar saw the squirrels feeding in the back yard.  He ran and got his Steampunk rifle.

Thank goodness I caught him in time.  I confiscated the gun and told him we didn't need squirrel stew.  Walter is bringing home lunch, since it is mothers day.

I am going to nail the gun to the fireplace in his study.  Maybe a bit of glue would be in order also.

I would much rather have a pastrami sandwich than squirrel anything for Mother's Day lunch!

See you tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day Casey! The little people seem happy with their new hands! You sawed a lot of wood. You probably used your electric saw. When I'm finished with my house, I plan to get one of those. I would like to make furniture, just for the fun of it. I have discovered that I love building furniture. Enjoy your pastrami sandwich! Now I want one but I won't get one. I'm going to my son's for dinner and we're having chicken.
